When the squad is more of a hindrance than a help, you obviously did something wrong. Cant tell you how many times my squad members ass comes across my scope when im sniping. very realistic

seriously… just tried to play it again… First thing I did wat TRY to hide my incompetent squad so they don’t trip over themselves to see who dies first. Despite all my efforts at keeping them out of the way… they managed to successfully catch my explosive back that I was trying to toss through a window like they are a pro defensive corner in the NFL. then proceeded to dance on it like Fred Astaire while the enemy mowed them down with a single shot gun at point blank range through the window…
WHY have a squad? This game would be OK if it didn’t have the squads.

You can give them an order to idle somewhere else. I basically allways point them somewhere way behind as they are totally useless in fighting & are just donkeys who carry different loadout when i need to swap.
My only issue is that they are very suacidal, and often when i would need my AT or Engi guy on the assault squad the dude already got himself killed by standing still in the middle of a field , as far away from any cover as possible

It was a feature 4 years ago and now it’s both devs and players headache.
Just use them as additional lifes and place somewhere behind you.
I always mark my squad to stand a decent distance from me when possible. 
X on PC tells them to stay put. They are a real pain if they’re anywhere near me though. Always jumping around in front of me.
AI used to be very strong a few years ago - the devs added alot of green maps with tons of bushes - AI was shooting through bushes - people got upset - AI was nerfed and is now nothing but canon fodder.
I miss old AI, I think just like the grey zone debate, AI balance can only be achieved when the maps themselves get reworked.
Hard disagree, I find my AI to be really useful in combat
Depends how You use it in My case if You want to have effective bots You need to give them SMGs (SF rifles in case if br 5 games) then mark when You see an enemy because your bots Will shoot faster at that direction and You can at least make them survive 5 second more : )
