Future of Enlisted

Since they will eventually run out of new ideas for support armies, vehicles, and weapons while keeping the game time period authentic…maybe Gaijin could make new campaigns? Starting new wars would allow new weapons and armies to be introduced. They have already developed alot of it in Warthunder (and unlike Warthunder) could keep the BR system more balanced so P- 51 Mustangs aren’t up against modern jet fighters.

The Korean War would introduce the Chinese army people kep asking for (American, Canadian, British, Koreans, Soviet and Chinese ).

Then there is Vietnam ( my hope) or even going back to WWI. It would allow new equipment, factions and maps while keeping the game authentic. After all, there is the Modern Conflict mod that is popular

I would love to see Vietnam, it is the step towards modernization, it is a time when we had weapons without being as exaggerated as today.

I would really like to see Korea or Vietnam, maybe even both.

Not for a long time. There’s still so many weapons, vehicles, and battles that have yet to be added.

It goes without saying that we are far from done

I would almost say we should stop talking about future wars because we could influence the devs in the wrong direction

DF took the wrong step when they choose to add gimmicky prototype niche weapons and vehicles slop “content” instead of more and more maps/campaigns and in depth character customization.

we are missing a lot like early war Low Countries and France campaign, Crete campaign, early/late war Polish campaign, Manchuria campaign, Alaskan campaign, Balkans campaign, Italian campaign, Scandinavian campaign, Southeast Asia campaign, and many other underrated battles.

Instead of those great underrated campaigns we rarely see in WW2 games we get Kuomintang troops in Normandy.

There are enough WW2 battle maps they could make to keep Enlisted going for years to come, even without having to offer up new weapons. So if I were in charge of DF, that is the direction I would go in, offering up new maps and less never existed experimental weapons which never sniffed the battlefield. If I were in charge, i would be instructing my crew to spend more time building new maps, and less time worrying about how a blood stain should look. I wouldn’t be trying to implement any updates into Enlisted that were NOT WW2 based. So, Vietnam or Korea? Not, but if I were DF I would be creating an all new game, most likely the Vietnam war as a completely separate game.

However the main thing I would do if I were in charge is pay attention to what the players are saying, and reacting to the MOST REQUESTED suggestions. But, fortunately or unfortunately, I am not in charge.

Speaking of post WW2 Enlisted, I recently have seen a game that seem to be just like it, its called " '83 " on Steam

I’ll still stand by most of the prototypes in the game being cool. I honestly would likely have never learned of Hyde or Pedersen without Enlisted, nor their incredibly cool firearms. Nor would I have looked into the evolution of the M1 and M1918 into the M14 as I have due to the addition of the T20 and its subsequent “it’s an M14!” arguments here. I get to play and enjoy my Super Pershing and M26 T99 in a way I genuinely just can’t in WT in an environment both of these tanks can thrive in. Dealing with Tiger’s, Panther’s, and the occasional Pz IV and deleting infantry with M8’s. I love these two tanks and their design and development history. (And I’m 72% sure I’m one of the factors that lead to the T99 being added)

I wouldn’t know the USSR used Winchester lever actions in WWII. I wouldn’t know the Federov even existed. Period. I likely wouldn’t have looked into the competitors to the AK such as the AS-44. Nor would I have known that not only did the German’s produce a small amount of semi auto rifles to serve in the war, but Russia did as well! And earlier on no less! They were attempting to replace their old Mosin’s, but got caught in the middle of doing so by the German invasion!

And let’s not forget the Czech small arms! Sure, I knew that German tanks with a “(t)” in the designation was Czech, but I didn’t know they had a robust small arms industry with genuine innovation and unique designs too! It’s been quite interesting looking up some of their designs and designers while stuck at work lemme tell you

All in all if you remove a couple bad apples from the group, I say they overall have a benefit for the game. Especially for a major nerd like me who loves learning about firearms

I didn’t know of its existence, thank you.

Imagine that they kill the campaigns because playerbase is too thin and extremely stretched, only to make a new campaign system but you can’t even use the same armies.

You got to be a genius to propose something like this.
