Further balanace and development 3.0

I personally think this is much better idea than simply taking away ammo supply/engineer. But even with those changes mortars should be pushed out of the spawn zone to make them counterable. And then they hould be fine

Player-controlled indirect fire creates terrible gameplay for everyone interacting with it. As its user you don’t see the results, you don’t even know what and where you’re hitting really. As its target you don’t see it coming and can’t counteract it.

So if your priority is gameplay and not authenticity (and this is clearly the case with Enlisted), this feature has no reason to exist. If you need some form of artillery for gameplay reasons (to stop people from being too passive, for example), it’s always a better choice to implement it as an off-map artillery / airplane strike you call in.

You can see the results, killfeed. And trust me, there is nothing as rewarding as killing 5 people marked by your teammate (it was in Berlin campaign but it still counts).

Sounds like being shot by a sniper from the other end of the map. And unlike sniper, you can hear a round being shot and try to evade it.

It has, indirect fire support, and unlike artylerry you don’t have to wait for it. It’s between artillery and handgranate.

It ends up in one of two ways (at least I haven’t seen any other):

  • it’s impossible to counter it
  • it’s useless because everybody counters it (like artillery currently)

Why do people always argue without even objecting to anything the other side said…? I can see this is pointless, but here we go.

  1. Killfeed is not gameplay.
  2. Sniper requires direct line of sight, which you at the very least can plan for. I won’t even go into countersniping, which can often be done without a scope.
  3. Hand grenades are not indirect FIRE. At the same time, even grenades they can ruing gameplay when they are too abundant, easy to use and effective. And they are a lot less effective, easy to use (against capture points) and abundant than mortars.
  4. So you’re saying it’s basically the same as mortars. Except that with mortars you also have to sit somewhere in the far rear and watch the killfeed. Sounds like you’re agreeing with me. Whatever.

I didn’t write it is. I wrote about seing results.

I don’t see how it makes being sniped less frustrating. And you can counter sniper after you got sniped (unless it’s particularly bad sniper).

I see you’ve never lobbed grenade over the building. Maybe they do not fire per say but they do kill, so effect is the same.
