Functional hull and rear MG on tanks

I think this suggestion has been brought up many times already, from what I saw, since 2020. Still don’t understand as if it’s under consideration or developers never know people are requesting this… I think Heroes and Generals also had this function, it makes tanks look finished as a product.

Machinegunners in most of the tanks should be functional, not just sitting there and acted like a spare Loader. I’ll list what it should function for easy reading:

  • Firing simultaneously while in the gunner position just like Soviet T-28 (why this tank was the exception)
  • Controllable Machinegunner like Japanese tanks (even though Japanese tanks have controllable MG, it still suffer from being unable to fire while in the gunner position)
  • Functional rear machinegun on the tank’s turret. Commander/Gunner should be able to switch to use it. (Ha-Go wasted this potential a lot from protecting itself, it doesn’t even have HE shell, like, why…)
  • I’m not talking about AI-controlled these MGs, would be too much firepower, just for players be able to switch to use it. At least make it have some uses not just a tank’s prop.

Hull and rear turret MG’s firing angles are very limited so I don’t think it’s a big problem in terms of balance.

This desperatelly needs to happen, I understand that all the vehicles in the game are ripped straight from WT, and that’s why many of the machine guns are non fucntional(still doesnt explain the lack of HE for the Ha-Go) but this is the one game where all those MGs would work!

As long as the machine gun has a lower priority than reloading
I don’t want to see Japan’s tank nightmare

I concur, in addition, I do want AI control of bow, side and rear facing machine guns should be implemented asap. It will enhance the tank’s lifespan against detpack spam.

Being a WT vehicle does explain its lack of HEs though, considering that unlike other countries’ small guns that still had HEs at some point in time before them being removed (for example, Soviet 45mm, American 37mm or German 37mm), Japanese apparently didn’t have them from the beginning.

(still sucks tho)

Wait what? I thought the Ha Go did have HE shells? I stsrted playing War Thunder because of japanese tanks!
