It feels really weird when you have to defend objective that is mostly open ground and attackers can make it no go / insta kill zone by combination of arty, mortars, planes and tanks, yet their infantry can calmly sit there in the rain of thousands of "friendly"shrapnel and cap the zone. I think it would be better if at least inside of the objective those area of effect weapons would also case FF.
About mortars, arty, planes agree. Tanks are ok, imo , not so often they are being abused.

I can imagine that but it leads to IMHO to really bad experience as you simply shell the zone without thinking about anything and the team that has more bombardment available at the time wins. I just finished game like that and the zone was constantly full of explosions and it is impossible to tell if it is friendly or enemy, but when those area of effect explosions pick only enemy targets, it is really bad at open objectives because you have to stand there to counter capping but any arty or bomber can easily sweep all defenders while leaving attackers free to cap it.
Artillery still has ff enabled btw
You should not be located at the capture point, because it is obvious that they are going to bomb it and send artillery to the limit, therefore the best thing you can do to defend the points is to locate yourself in the surroundings and from there defend since almost nobody bombs out there or anything.

Sadly the player base would abuse it. By this I mean we are thankfully relatively free from team killers, for the simple reason they can’t tk. Even so some sour individuals still manage to with flames.
Giving the ok for arty and bombs teamkill… it would be a massacre. I’m certain we’d see alot of red circles on the map exactly where our rally points are set…
There could be some punishment for TKers then…for example like in squads mode. Tk on purpose - vote kick. Kicked in several games in row, ban for 1 day etc. Other problem is even more dumb, that enemies can mortar your objective, while their teammates just walk into the all the shelling intact.
Unless something has changed, artillery still does friendly fire. I guess I don’t shell my teammates very often, so it could have changed, but that’s what it was. The main area where I think adding friendly fire could be good is aircraft bombs, but now that they are less absurdly powerful I think that isn’t as important as it once was, and there is of course the risk of discouraging their use in general because it can be pretty easy to make an honest mistake and team kill with bombs. Still wouldn’t be opposed to some experimentation in that area, though.
I haven’t been on the recieving end of focused mortar bombardment enough to really have a strong opinion on the matter.
I have never seen any TK from arty except for lone fighter. Screen shakes but that’s all.
Hmm, if they have changed it then I’d say that’s a mistake. Arty for sure is too strong of a zone denial tool to allow people to use without fear of friendly fire, and the long lead time and cooldown significantly limits how much damage a single obnoxious player can do to their own team with intentional misplays.
As far as I know it works like grenades. You can get killed by your own arty but arty from allied player only shakes your screen. They adjusted the cooldown but when there are at least two radio squads, they can shell the objective every 30s.
That is definetly not how it used to work, at least. I’ve seen some particularly bad arty placement wipe 10 friendlies before. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that to make sure.
Arty still has FF, killed one friendly accidentally today.
no clue how to fix it but it is definitely a problem that a team can spam arty, bombs, and mortars on a cap while they take it and not have any problems
Maybe it has but definitely not full damage as I never managed to kill any ally except my squad as I needed to shell my position but my bots decided it is too boring inside the house and strolled outside.
I thought the same but after todays match, I’m not sure any more.
I was standing in the middle of the arty barrage (2s during the “main” barrage) and I didn’t notice any decrease of Hp.
A vote kick would be nice, like in RO1. Or something automated (like in Ro1 again) that accumulates the number of tk someone does and auto kick after a certain threshold. Ppl could simply type “np” if they got tked and knew it was no biggy and it removed their tk from the count of the tker.
