Friendly artillery/bombing strikes - Make them blue instead of red

A small but important QoL improvement of today’s UI:
Make friendly artillery and bombing strikes blue and not red on the mini-map!

Artillery as it shown today:

Artillery UI-suggestion:

Sometimes you don’t pay attention to the narrator. Instead of asking in chat or looking for friendly bombing planes marker (that appears very late) we should be to see which team who called the strike.

Current situation:

It would especially be useful in situations like this where everything’s becoming a mess of red dots:

I know this has been suggested before and I believe it’s a very supported idea among fellow community members!

It is a very good idea, especially because friendly fire is disabled in game. But in my opinion, airstrike/artillery strike should affect both friends and enemies. Maybe just less damage for friendly soldiers. Actually bombers force only enemy players to escape. It is not realistic. And tactically not so fair.

At least you shouldn’t be able to shoot at all under friendly bombardment/shelling.

And please add the ability to hide enemy’s red circles for hardcore mode and configable in the editor

:red_circle: - You will die
:large_blue_circle: - Enemies will die

There is beauty in simplicity !

Honestly fellas the more i think of it, artillery fires no matter what the gamemode is should enable friendly fire.

Not only it’ll scare away or kill advancing or defending enemy forces but it also gave both sides to start over to attack and defend. think of it as punishment for players who solely rely on friendly artillery and bombers to shield them from enemies killing them

While i do agree having an indicator helps knowing who’s artillery/bombers is being called, at the end it’ll just encourages players to be careless and exploit the system

Also add friendly fire to artillery and bombing runs and everything explosive

If I remember correctly, long ago (as in 2021) there was arty friendly fire, along with 30s reload time and ability for the whole team to call at once. Those mass barrages were glorious and absolutely hilarious, but I understand why they nerfed it, both teams could literally wipe themselves out, leaving the battlefield empty.

I’d love this, especially as a fighter pilot. Sometimes I don’t hear well what our officers say in the “radio”, especially with the fact they use native languages… So when I look at the minimap I’m not always certain if the incoming bombing run is friend or foe…

With colour however…

Seriously we should know if a strike is our own or not. Hope they will consider this suggestion.

Was a confirmed bug

Personally I dislike that you can charge through friendly arty with no downsides and this feature will only make it easier.

But I see I’m in the minority.

You can charge in enemy arty the same, there is sufficient time for go in and kill before the arty strike

It’s a good idea, but only if friendly fire from artillery, grenades and bombs returns.

I really like the idea, but I think that without friendly fire from artillery this would be too OP. That too can be problematic since most people aren’t thoughtful about where and when they’re using artillery strikes. Maybe they should add those changes + a warning system that tells you to leave a zone / get cover from friendly artillery and airstrikes. For example : “Friendly artillery coming in 15 seconds. Get cover!”

This is a great idea.

Yes, this is something what we really need in game :love_you_gesture:t2:

Battlefield Hardline had a similar thing where enemy molotovs where regular fire but friendly ones where blue.

Honestly though I don´t really care if an Artillery strike and bombing run is friendly or not, the former still gives you screen shake like hell and the latter can be easily identified if you just look at the bomber formation. What interests me is knowing if incoming mortar fire is friendly or not. Only way to find out is if you run into it.
You die=It´s the enemy
You don´t die=It´s a dipshit who can´t aim properly
It´s a lose-lose scenario.

In short it would be great if friendly mortar fire was marked with a blue impact icon on the map.

Then you have to disable native announcers honestly. They´re the main way how you figure out if they´re friendly or not. The devs must think so too.
