French Modéle 1913 aircraft machine gun
During the First World War, the French Air Force introduced the machine gun designed by Louis Chauchat and Charles Sutter, designated Modéle 1913, into its armament. The Gladiator company in Paris, which later produced the famous F.M. 1915 light infantry machine guns during the First World War, produced only 186 M 1913 machine guns and the Military History Institute (VHÚ) is probably the only institution in the world that has these weapons in its collections.
The museum acquired the machine gun with serial number 34 in December 1981 by transfer from the military unit in Babice near Říčany.
