Well you can pick one if you like, but I think most people would rather keep their own nick.

Instead of seeing another persons chosen nickname you see their squad/bot nickname
I see. But which one? average player have 20+ bot nickname (3 7-man squads). It’d be hard for coordination in chat, no?

Havent you ever think about that most “players” on your scoreboard are bots with generic names?
Sounds a bad idea to me. It’s much more fun to see I almost received more engineering points than someone I met here in the forum as well, than to get the names hidden. How would you identify your friends’ scores for example? Doing what you suggested would be equivalent to hiding all the names.
What is the reason behind? You don’t wish to be displayed as someone in the bottom part of the score table as it often happens to me?
All op wants its an option to select the name of squad soldiers when he gets them.not after with name change cards or gold. But an option to rename them as he pleases when he Gets them

My understanding was that he wants “Kirill Tarasov” in place of Xoomz and such, in the scoreboard. Players could select a name from their squads, and instead of their registered nicknames those soldier names would show up in the scoreboard, not random nonsense like Zorg_136 and yido661, or Andris42.
Too much guesswork on my behalf, maybe.

I guess then after you made your chosen nickname you will have to select a generated one as well that won’t change. That way you can keep track of that person’s stats and have the option of avoiding silly nicknames.
No. It’s the opposite 🤷 the current “very silly” nicknames (like xoomz) are also the player’s account name. So if you want to “track” someone, contact to speak or even group with another person after a match, you NEED the silly “xoomz” to do so, not a generic soldier’s name.
Not only that, but your suggestion is also pointless: if the names shown in the “tab” list were chosen soldiers name, people would STILL chose stupid sounding nicknames for those particular soldies.
The only thing YOU could have done is chose a better account name than “xoomz” if you dislike it… 🤷
