There are 4 different variants of the Thompson in Rank IV for the USA, meaning to get to Rank V in the SMG line you need to spend 400k+ research on 4 guns that, in the grand scheme of things, aren’t that much different.
Therefore, I propose that the BR III Thompsons (M1A1, M1928) and the BR IV Thompsons (M1, M1921/28) each be foldered with the other.
I fully agree with this suggestion, thank you for posting it.
I understand Thompsons were the common Allied weapon, nevertheless I dont see why we cant have more variety in the allied tree.
As Ive posted before its
Low rank: Bren guns
High rank: BARs
Up to rank III theres various SMGs, but then the entire line is purely Thompsons.
Foldering them is an excellent idea.
Id also like to open up suggestions from other forum members as to what other SMGs could be added, especially for BR III onwards?
Id like the Austen added though it would be BR II. I also think a 20 round Thompson should be added, especially when the Axis get a 20 round M38.
Perhaps there were SMGs from other Allied natIons that could be considered? (given that USA-UK is apparently supposed to cover the entire Allied nations except USSR).
Eg the Commonwealth countries, France, Greece, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, China (to name a few)
The german and allied trees are full of it, both sets riflers could be foldered even more, the SMG line needs foldering for both, the allied MG line is madness, they should all be foldered behind each other. The tank lines for both need it, and the aircraft for both.
Also, like if a vehicle is the best at its BR, it should be foldered behind something, so you have to go out of your way to get it. For that matter, why is the pz3 N in from of the pz 4 F1 when its just better than the pz 4.
Like what annoys me the most about this issue, is its super simple to fix, but the devs will ofc never speak about why they wont do it.
