Yep is kind of unfair the fact that fg-42 don’t have a bayonet (and bipods sucks with most of weapons)

Bipods provide -30% recoil when mounting.
But due to full power SF rifle have 0 recoil in this game, bipods is currently useless.

Id rather have bayonet charge than mounting, mounting just the weapon itself is already sufficient to mitigate recoil

actually - bayonets give a secret recoil reduction.
also I do actually use bipods quite often - just not on FGs, since there is little point.

also not just sexy - but iconic.
most WW2 guys know about a FG42, but many never knew that the front part actually even contains bipods to begin with. 90% of the footage a regular gamer knows about the FG is with its bipods folded up - for that reason also almost no one knows that the rod underneath the barrel of the FG is actually a bayonet*.
yup, I was introduced to FG-42 when playing COD 1 many years ago and it stuck with me for the rest of my life

oh yeah, I remember, it was a random pickup on some multiplayer maps and basically a full auto one hit kill sniper rifle. great fun
why not both…? It’s not like they’re mutually exclusive in any way…
allied and soviet player will bitch and moan if axis got bipod AND bayonet

The Type Hei Automatic Rifle has its bipod deployed too so that’s a pretty moot point as well
