The FM 24/29 is an Allies Gold order weapon. The FM 24/29 was France’s modernized standard issue light machine gun after the WW1 Chauchat. It should be given to Germany as well.
After the French capitulation, Germany took over production of French arms and these weapons were absorbed into the German war effort.
It is true that Free French Forces continue to use French arms they managed to keep with them but they were still mostly supplied by the Allies. While the inclusion of French Allied units is certainly possible, we should not gloss over the fact that for the majority of the war France was under German occupation and the majority of French arms were absorbed into the German arsenal.

Yeah, I’ve seen photos of Wehrmacht forces on the Atlantic wall on Normandy with FM 24/29s mounted inside pill boxes and bunkers. They were very common amongst German forces stationed in France and the Low Countries.

I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing all French weapons in both the Allies and German trees. France itself was kind of split between Free French and Vichy French.

I think we should get some event or premium Vichy France units with the FM 24/29 or the MAS smg, would be cool to see the other side of france represented in the war

But on the other hand I’d like for German units to actually be able to use these French weapons because it better represents them being conquered. I occasionally give my Germans MAS 36

I think it’s silly that France would be it’s own independent faction while Britain is stuck attached to America. Plus France only fought Germany for about a month, and then Free French Forces were supplied and attached to the Allies for most of the war.
Personally I think for now French units should just be added as Premium/ event squads for the Allies. It even makes more sense because French forces were supplied by the Allies while the literal French manufacturing was under German control. More French weapons were probably made and used by Germany than France
the description says that the Italian army produced magazines and other accessories for the various captured FMs to continue their use because they were appreciated
