Here’s an idea how to make the purchase of premium more attractive.
My problem:
I have bought premium in the past, when I was relatively new to the game and playing a lot. But now I’m only playing a few games every couple of days, unless there’s an event going on. So premium time would be way too wasteful for me. On the other hand, my campaign progress is so slow right now (doing 3 campaigns at once), I’d really like to speed it up. But if I did buy it, it would force me to play more, in order to get the most out of it. The way, that premium works now, it encourages an unhealthy gaming habit. Playing, even though I’m not really in the mood or should be doing something else.
The solution:
Make premium more expensive, but make it, so it only counts down, while the game is running. This way, inactivity doesn’t waste your money.
Look at the statistics to see how long the average player plays per day or alternatively, how long it takes on average to complete all daily battle tasks. And then adjust the prices accordingly.
As an example: Right now, 30 days of premium cost 990 gold. That’s 1,375 gold per hour. Let’s imagine, that statistics show us, that the average premium user plays 3 hours per day. 24/3=8. So the new gold per hour cost would be 11.
But it only deducts time, when the game is running, so you get to play whenever and however much you want.
The no-lifers probably wouldn’t like this, but for everyone else it would be a huge incentive to use more premium. Of course, such a flexible premium could exist as an alternative option, rather than as a replacement of the current model.
