Continuing to develop my idea to replace the extremely clumsy pouches and backpacks. My suggestion will improve the lives of all players, allow fine selection of equipment for your style of play. And maybe solve the problem of spamming explosive packs! Now this has all matured into a complete idea that can literally be transferred to the game this way. I’m waiting for support, for I’d really like the flexibility in customization:
So. The system right now is such that there is a lot of one thing given. +5 magazines per machine gun? Why? I already have 150 rounds of ammo. 4 first aid kits? Why when I usually have time to use 1-2. 3 grenades? Yes, then I will not shoot at all, only throw them.
The solution: reworking slots. Immediately the good news - no one will not lose anything. If you want to leave the same set, as now gives backpack or pouch - you can.
So: You have two basic ammunition slots (in the screenshot they are marked red). The first one is for a grenade (a grenade! About the explosive bag on the next page), the second one is for the first aid kit. Any soldier has such a set.
Then there are backpacks (on the screenshot frame in green): a small (2 slots), medium (3 (I’m not sure that the average is needed)) and Large at 4. Their appearance can dynamically change depending on what you take in it: for example, if you take 4 magazines, then it will be an ammo pouch, if 2 magazines and 2 medical kits, then a small backpack and some small pouches.
Now a list of items and their “value” in the inventory:
Any grenades - 1 slot
First aid kit - 1 slot
Explosive pack - 2 slots, or grenade slot + 1 slot from the backpack (this is how I have shown in the screenshot)
Magazine - 1 slot
Drum or disk - 2 slots.
The question remains in the mines: for them to do a separate “free” slot or not I do not know.
It turns out those fighters with explosive packs in the new squads that you get, will immediately have 1 small backpack. This will not kill the economy, because such backpacks you get few and only small.
In fact, now you’ll be able to take 2 first-aid kits, an explosive pack and 2 magazines. Much more convenient, right? Although someone else might choose a different ratio (and it’s cool!)
At the same time solve the problem of spam explosive bag, now you have to sacrifice 1 slot backpack to replace the grenade on the explosive bag, or 2 more if you want a second explosive bag. Well at least a small backpack will have to be purchased.
In general, these changes will allow more flexibility in configuring the squad, give a second life to grenades and reduce the spamming of explosive packs.
Naturally I leave the design details to the designers, but it is a system that will allow no one to remain offended, and many to try another aspect of the in-depth customization of their fighters. Developers, take note of this! Comrades, support it!

I like- as for mines, I always wondered why they don’t share a slot with medpacks, toolkits, and etc.
I wonder why the large backpack doesn’t also give ammo
because digging ammo out of a backpack is awkward

Now is: you can’t pick your current squad’s weapons, and the dropped weapons are in the exact death spot, not with the corpse.
A modular system is always cooler. I take great pleasure in the fine-tuning of the outfit.
Maybe you never faced me in Berlin when I start to mine a indoor cap point and there are like 18 hidden mines everywhere around (yes 2 squads 9 soldiers each). Now if I could add 4 per soldier, oh boy, this thought alone makes me a bit hard.

but i can’t.
as i played CAT and CBT, people always complained about super soldiers ( the ability to carry lots of ammo, lots of grenades and now even mines ).
just a singular soldier was able to throw 4 grenades ( explosives in that scenario ). and if he wasn’t done, he could have done that with the other soldiers.
not really friendly for tankers as it was pure hell ( or infantry as well due to the explosions spam )
therefore, i’d rather avoid that scenario all over again. after all, it tooks so much time to be introduced.
that’s why at that time people asked for tune down those options and therefore demanding for actions.

Secondly, you can now take three explosive packs. What problem are we talking about?
My suggestion would allow to make more balanced assemblies: 2 magazines + first aid kit + grenade, or drum + first aid kit + replacement of the standard grenade with an explosive pack.
You won’t see more grenade spam than you have now.
Eventually you can limit the maximum number of grenades in your backpack so you can’t take 4 extra grenades. It would be fair to make that number equal to 2-3.
