Flame go brrrr

You see, Darkflow, I was watching one of my favorite childhood TV shows (Greatest Tank Battles) when they showed a Tank I had never heard of. It is called the M3 Satan Flame Tank.

  • The overall inadequate performance of the improvised flame throwers led the Marine Corps and Army to look elsewhere for a flamethrower system that could replace the main armament of a Tank. The flame equipment they chose was the Canadian built Ronson F.U.L Mk. IV. Ronson flamethrowers were first developed by the British Petroleum Warfare Department in 1940. The British abandoned work on the weapons, however, judging them to have insufficient range. The Canadians continued work on the equipment and were able to make it more effective. They even mounted it on the Wasp Mk. IIC, a flamethrower variant of the famous Universal.
About 40 Ronsons were shipped to the Central Pacific early in 1944 after they were requested by the famous Lieutenant General Holland ‘Howling Mad’ Smith, of the V Amphibious Corps. Here they took part in demonstrations for the heads of the respective services. So impressed was ‘Howling Mad’ Smith, that he approved the equipment.
The Ronson was mounted in the turret of the mothballed obsolete M3A1s. To mount the weapon, the 37mm gun main armament was removed. The mantlet was retained, but a wide tube was introduced into the void left by the absent gun barrel to protect the flame projector. The coaxial machine gun was retained on the right of the flame aperture, though some vehicles did have their bow machine guns deleted. On the inside of the tank, a huge 170-gallon fuel tank was introduced to give the weapon as much burn time as possible. The projector had a range of up to 80 yards. This conversion had an unfortunate side effect. The piping connected the projector to the fuel tank limited the turret traverse to 180 degrees left and right. The M3A1 Satan was born. In total, 24 of these improvised flamethrower tanks were produced by Army and Navy mechanics on Hawaii in time for the Marianas operations. Now, obviously, there is no question that this tank should be added to the game (normal tech tree because why not lol), but there is a lesson we can take away from this suggestion:

  1. Watch more military history TV shows (the cool ones)

By doing this, you will gain instant knowledge of either things you have never heard of or a more detailed look into what you already know. If anyone is confused about where to find some of those cool TV shows, I have a good list to recommend. I can’t confirm they will be free, though.

It is a good show if you see these guys. I know from experience.

Stuart Flamethrower is already in the game, if this is what you are talking about.

Oh ! You are talking about a different version of the stuart. Hum this one seems odd because you need to give up the 37 mm. I hope that it gets a better flame thrower than the one ingame. We could also get a Sherman (or even a Churchill) Crocodile added to the game.

I never played any of the flame throwing tanks in Enlisted so I have no idea if that would be good.

But nice topic overall.

Bro, cmon now. You know I don’t copy and paste a wall of text for the fun of it.

You know I’ll hook a brother up with them cold docs.

The long-range flamethrowers will be much better. The Stuart currently is just a suicide box with all the TNT and grenade spam. Especially since post-merge.

This is the flamethrower that should be on the M3, not the stupid M1A1 stuffed into the tank

It’s pretty bad if you’re expecting a flamethrower as your primary means of killing, just think of it as an “M3 Sturt++” since the hull machine guns don’t work to begin with.

Ok I did not know, but how does it compare to the other flame tank in the game (Pz II F and HT-130). If the german and soviet flame tanks have better flamethrowers than the Stuart, then I could see the point of adding this new stuart flame tank as there equivalent for instance

Edit : According to the enlisted resource doc, yes the other flame tanks have twice the range on there flamethrowers, So the Satan Stuart could well be added in the game with a similar performing main armament

The premium flame tank is really powerful in certain situations, but when someone brings out an AT rifle or a tank, you’re screwed.

Is there a reason not to add in the Satan tank?

The Americans do not need another Flamethrower tank it was a disaster that they only gave it to the allies in the Pacific campaign and the Japanese didn’t get one

So much a disaster that I have never seen any M3 Flamethrower in the game. Also you could just make a suggestion about japanese flame tank as well instead of whining .

Show me a Japanese flame tank from WW2

Flame tanks for US?
Pointless because US already has tommy owens.

At this point I do not believe Dark flow like to give any more ways to kill the allies

Fair enough, start the lobbying for it.

If the Japanese get their hands on this you will not stop hearing the never ending cries of the allies and then they’ll ask for something even more broken to oppress the Japanese.

The Japanese get the only free floating tank in the game

Not with that tank, to be quite honest. It only has a 40-yard reach with flames, 25 mm armor, and an underpowered 57mm gun. It will be just fine with the Sherman Zippo and other flame tanks that will be eventually added.
