I (proud flakbus owner, well proud more because of its iconicy than of its useability) appreciate you to share your impressions of the Flakbus-88/37 as it actually is.
A good question actually is why should you bring a flakbus in BR IV instead of a Tiger-H1?
And to the players how dont own the Flakbus-88/37 why did you don´t buy it? Or what should it suposed to be worthy for your to buy?
larping reasons ( at least, for me. )
and, it’s generally fun.
haven’t bought it yet, because i’m waiting for it to be in discount, but imo, it doesn’t have to be great.
after all, i mained pre merge berlin with just volkssturm weapons in the full soviet swings.
but it’s similar to collectors squad such as the night witches.
doesn’t have to be great, as long you like it, and have fun with it.
P.s. if you are about to complain about the gun depression, make a bug report or something.
but there is no need to make 10 threads or comments about it.
As a flakbus owner, there are my reasons for using it
-
Variety: its a very weird vehicle, its non meta like dicker on br3, and sometimes i give it to players on field
-
Gameplay: its a different vehicle, and its not a easy vehicle, thats make me think on all the ways for help my team whit that junky bus ( like gaz aaa)
-
Premiun
Its premiun, after refill all my common slots i can use that interesting vehicle in the premiun slots (like m10 panther, panzer 38 t, flamepanzer and others)
Just on case if you are a veteran or you just wanna a funny game whitout meta vehicles
I like the Flakbus in warthunder.
Waiting for 50% off
would be more interesting with working HE TF (But not really for planes)
I reckon its a BR 3 vehicle (with the Dicker max) and its Not user friendly. Another reason I’m in no rush to get it. I know exactly what it can do.

I didnt buy because:
- I always wait 50% off by principle
- HUGE target
- open top vulnerable to infantry AND plane light mgs
- poor maneuverabiliy
- no defense mgs
- no armour
- no gun depreciation
- slow gun traverse speed
- does NOT work vs planes (no HE-TF)
- cannot pop back and shoot from a building corner, because big ammo racks are on the back.
- is overtiered at br4 due to all that is mentioned above. Dicker max is better and br3.
For me to consider worth buying:
- 50% off (principle)
- working HE-TF, or some proximity mechanism of sort.
- get in br3 where it fits better than br4

Just getting at if you read “Big gun and can shoot at planes” and got roped in
prepare to be disappointed lol. Fans know its weaknesses, know its overtiered, and want it regardless

I will be forced to use a vehicle designed to destroy tank, concrete bunkers, bombers from kilometres away in a small map.
The flakbus is a total waste of money.
Why would you bring that thing into BR4, when a BR3 dicker Max exists?
Why would you bring that thing into BR4, when even a Tiger is the same thing but in actually playable.
Heck, why would you even bring in a Tiger, when Panthers are BR4?
This is a troll vehicle, and if I see my teammates using that waste of metal and thus wasting a vehicle slot for the team - I quit and let them lose in piece.

You can support my Bug/Balance -Reportticket on Gaijin now if you like to “Flakbus 88 SF 37 needs improvement (bugfix + balancing)”
i like mine, it doesnt survive long, but when it does, it does serious damage.
I don’t have the Flakbus yet but I tend to use pretty much whatever I feel like at a given moment. I don’t care about power creeping, I’ll use a Panzer 2 just as soon as I’d use a Panther. Variety is nice.
I’ve bought one as well. Its a collector vehicle.
Since its a BR IV vehicle its got a relatively limited set of maps where it can deploy, reduced further by the extremely poor terrain design in Enlisted. Generally there are a couple of the French/German city maps which are less cluttered and where you have some chance of maneouvre. So its use is extremely situational, but we have a free premium slot now, so if I want to play it, that’s where it goes.
BR IV is badly implemented, so I rarely play it.
As the vehicle is very exposed its very hard to protect the crew from cheats or bot return fire, which often happens through vegetation and out of the actual line of sigh, particularly as I try to position the vehicle in cover. Generally, following a couple of effective shots the bots will range me in, because reasons, and the return fire will kill most of the bots on the vehicle, since they don’t really take any cover.
If I ever get marked by a sensible player then planes will chew me up in an instant as long as the pilot is not autistic and/or color blind.
Clearly if the infantry get anywhere near you its gg wp, and its often the case that you’ll get hit by paras or a cheeky suicide bike squad that often goes vehicle hunting along the flanks. In general the suicide rushes through the lines for vehicle hunting are succesfull because the bots don’t care if you run past them, as long as you don’t shoot them, and the players are often not much better. So defending oneself is a real challenge in this.
If the maps get larger and actually quasi realistic, with sensible elevation changes and placement of buildings, ancillary structures and potential defensive improvements that would make sense from a historical perspective, then yeah this vehicle will have some options for players. But until they take the crayons off the map designers, we’re really just looking at a very cool vehicle in the barracks.
