Its getting out of hand with the spamming of Flak guns and CAS.
I just had a match in Normandy, being german attack side, and it was no fun with how much the enemy team spammed Flaks and CAS.
For every Point we had to capture, there were atleast 2 Flaks covering the fields and mowing down our Infantry. We couldn’t use Tanks either as their CAS, 2 planes with rockets and bombs, killed off any ground threat right away. And setting up Rally points was difficult too as they spotted where our Infantry spawned and placed a Flak nearby.
Some enemy engis even got cocky and placed Flaks on bunkers and tanks, using the elevated position and their HE ammo effect to get us out of cover.
Before you ask, many on the enemy team where gold ranks.
I fought off the CAS by building Flaks but everytime i built a Flak, the enemy built a Flak too to counter my Flak, it was not funny at all as i had to fire at the incoming enemy planes too as they were going for my position too.
Thank god the inside capture points had not enough space for Flaks. Still lost the match as their strugglers pretty much kept us occupied while their engis built new Flaks left and right.
I never thought i would see that, but here i am, facing Engineer spam.
Flak guns were used against infantry as well during the war so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also it does really depend on the situation in game. Whenever I use flaks its mostly against pesky planes, but sometimes if the situation calls for it…
When others are complaining about assaulter squads or MGs which can be dealt with a bolt action rifle by begging for stupid restrictions, flak spam is the real problem especially when used inside buildings where tanks cannot get a good shot on it.
They need to do something about the hitbox for AT gun and flak crews like make them easy to hit like regular infantry with small arms especially head on against a flak gunner.
CAS spam has been a problem especially in Normandy for a long time already but the recent flak spam lately is just getting crazy like I have destroyed more flaks and AT guns with a tank lately.
flak spam is dumb and ruins the immersion worse than auto spam ever can. which is more ww2 like some guys with alot of fg42’s (also iconic gun for the germans) or americans playing tf2 with engis using 20mm’s instead of 50cals lol
Its been quite the debate recently about what to do with FLAK. I think they should reduce the maximum placement to 1 to match all the other engineer placements.
As for CAS, you just have to shoot them down, and if no one is with the amount of FLAK we can put down or with planes, then I think it is safe to say that it was just a team difference to begin with.
i think they should prohibit building AA guns on indoors, those are the worst especially in maps where you have to cross a narrow hallway, like the Berlin map in the Parliament building. Those that build far back in grey areas are another annoying ones. There aren’t that many spammers cause only engineer squad can build those and unless you premium user there is very limit on how many squads you can bring
