In a recent update all map placed fixed machine guns became indestructible objects capable of taking hits from tank canons for no effect. This is pretty bad balance wise because such positions become very hard to push as suppressing the MG for any decent amount of time is just not practical, this is worst in maps where there are multiple MG positions crossfiring at a choke point.
I new that in the past this mgs were very easily destroyed even with a regular bolt action rifle but this is to much right now. A better compromise would be to give engineers the ability to fix this guns, and keep them vulnerable to AT rifles, explosives and canon fire
Fixed map placed mgs, like the ones that no one places but exist on the map, can not be destroyed right now, I shot at them 5+ 37mm APHE shells at point blank range (15m), they still are not destroyed m
Is an easy explanation, from my test, shoot a fixed mg behind in two shoot destroy here but, shoot here frontally dont do damage, i think is because wen dev imported all stats from stalingrad they imported even the stats of the fixed maxim wo frontally need a lot of damage for being destroyed because of the shield, so because of copypasted logic all mg now have the same frontally resistence of the stalingrad maxim
Last time I checked a 37mm AP she’ll would destroy an mg, but I guess that in dark flow’s logic MGs are made out of stalinium with a plot shield coating.
Insofar as what I’ve experienced in DDay especially, they are not easily destroyed at all.
I’ve emptied makes into them and they still keep going. Something is categorically wrong with how they are setup.
Just because the gun doesn’t fall down doesn’t mean it’s not destroyed.
I can confirm because the MG says “mount” but when I bayonet it the prompt goes away despite the MG appearing unharmed.
i remember machine guns on d-day being easily destroyed with almost anything and few months ago they got update and now they are really hard to kill. as i was grinding axis they were easy to kill and as i am grinding allies they are PITA.
That is exactly what I think is the main reason why the Allied forces are at a disadvantage on the beaches of Normandy.
We tried various means, such as 76mm, M1919, M1903A4, and gun bed blows for MGs in the bunker on D-DAY, but the MGs were still usable.
