Good night everyone, today we will talk about the Nagan. It has long been asked for and in some ways it is painful to see the Soviet revolver like this. It’s all about double action. Initially in Tsarist Russia there were two versions of the Nagan, the “officer’s” double action and the “soldier’s” single action. And here is where the most interesting thing starts
- The Soviet army never had a single-action Nagan in service. Only the “officer” version with double-action mechanism was produced for the Soviet army. That’s what even Wikipedia says.
It was produced in two versions: a double-action version for officers, and a cheaper single-action version for the lower ranks. Seven Nagant revolvers were used by to kill the Russian imperial family and their servants in July 1918. After the Russian Revolution, only the double-action version was made
And pretty much any historian of information in general.
- This raises the question, why in Enlisted the USSR has all Nagans of single action, when they should be double action. Just why?
What is the actual point of the proposal - I simply propose to give the Nagan its double action. This is necessary in order to:
1)It’s trivial historically
2)It will make the Nagan at least somewhat relevant within the game, especially the Nagan with a silencer.
