Fix the Solothum S18-100

I think it is a bit ridiculous that you have to lay down to shoot this damn thing, when it weighs less then “HALF THE WEIGHT” as the Japanese Type 97 Tank rifle, that you can easily fire “STANDING UP”! WTF is up with that?

I don’t use many AT personal in my lineups, and finally for the first time last night I had a chance to use the Solothum in the game. Another gray zone tank in the long list of gray zone tanks that does nothing other then blast away at cap points, fortunately for me he had wandered close enough for me to run around a house and get a good clean side shot at him. So I start clicking the mouse to shoot, and the damn thing doesn’t shoot, then remembered I had to lay down. So, I drop down and wouldn’t you know it, I couldn’t see the damn tank through the weeds, rocks and all the other shit on the ground. I get up to reposition myself and the damn tank wastes me. Why on earth would you make this AT gun, and ONLY this AT gun only shoot from my belly? For some reason, smaller Jap soldiers don’t have a problem lugging and firing an AT gun that weighs 52 kg’s standing up, when a German soldier, most likely bigger in stature cannot fire a 20 kg AT rifle standing up? C’mon, fix this shit. Why handicap one faction, and not the others? And no, you don’t need to take a year to discuss it, fix it, its stupid.

The devs will probably change its weight to 100kg instead,

arent they both roughly ~50kg ?

But yes, grant the same capabilities to solothurn.

20.3 kg is what the Solothurn says in the description box while the Japanese Type 97 says 52 kg’s.

That wouldn’t surprise me. It is not just with the AT rifles that DF has messed up stats. Months ago I posted that several machine guns that had the same weight had different running speed penalties, when they should theoretically if they weigh the same should have the same penalty. I did not check all factions on that because I was just playing around with different German level two MG’s on the practice range, and upon stat comparison found that.
Lahti 10 75
Mod 30 10 50
ZB-26 10 50
The Lahti weighs about 2.5 kg’s more then the US BAR, but they have the same sprint speed. But why wouldn’t these three German MG’s not have the same sprint speed? My guess is just sloppy workmanship when DF was programming and it was never corrected.

As usual, DF issue.

assuming we’re speaking of same AT rifle, it is close to 50kg

It might be 50 kg’s in real life, but it’s only 20.3 in Enlisted. Even at 50 kg’s, it’s still 2 kg’s less then the Japanese AT rifle which they can shoot standing, which means the Germans should be able to shoot theirs standing as well.

To be fair, its BR1 now, and as such is better than PTRS on pure stats, being forced to lay down sucks - yes, but there might be other ways to keep this limitation without necessarily make it terrible.

If you actually manage to get into position ( which is hard to do yes) you have a 10 round semi auto canon. Magdumping into BR1 tanks will wreck the enemy.

I mean Id just add back the old system of it taking stamina to fire it while standing up.

The main issue I have with it is the broken bipod system.

Make this able to fire while standing but cost 1 life point doing so.
