Although this might be a good temporary fix. It still doesnt adress the underlying reason why people suidide bomb in the first place (it not being worth it to go for a second run). So it will probably make people crash less. but the people who were going to crash would then just pull up and either suicide via the menu, or jump out after getting the kills. So i dont really think it would fix much
In my opinion no, because you would still need to be fairly accurate instead of just pointing into your target and crashing.
I don’t see a problem with people making 1 run then returning to the squad spawn (by way of suiciding in menu or crashing out of bounds).
the problem i have with suicide bombing (including suiciding after one run) is not that they cant aim bombs. it is that people just die after one run, making you unable to stop them in any way. this makes AA and fighters completely unnecesary/useless because there is nothing you can shoot down.
if you have ever tried playing fighter in a game where people just suicide after one run, you would know that it is the most boring shit in the world
but regardless my first point still stands. if it was worth it to go for a second run (which it isnt right now), most people who suck at aiming would go and rearm aswell. the fix op proposed is pretty much just a band aid on a gaping wound
that is true aswell. but it certainly doesnt help that you cant shoot them down after either because they just suicided via the menu
this is true. but if the bomber were to go rearm for another run and you stopped him, that would be some value, and although it would probably not be that much value. it would be way more than the close to zero utility fighters have now
people crashing into the ground on the first run is still just a symptom of what i said
the reason they suicide bomb just once instead of going for multiple runs is because it isnt worth it to go for more. if people knew that it would be beneficial to stay in the plane, they wouldnt purposefully crash on the first run nearly as much as they do now
who cares about the “xp” and “kills”? if you can take out a target fast with a suicide run you might turn the match around and win a game, which you most likely wont do if you stay in the air for too long.
Cant agree since you basically have an powerful flying mg machine which also can if youre lucky take out spawn points inside building but also infantry
What i do despite how ever is ppl spawning in to try shoot you in the back then just crashes if they fail. But hey thats life with rats scrurving around
Soooo, you want to eliminate one of the tactics that was used in wwII, one of this games mission statements is to try and be as it was in the era. Albet the Japanese used this tactic more than other countries, when your plane is badly injured and your going to crash any way, why not take some with you? The planes are a machine designed to take out multiple foes, so let them do just that, even if they crash into you. Realistically if a player does do a single run, he is wasting resources and it is to the foes advantage in most cases, it takes TIME to spawn into plane, fly to destination and if you crash immediately its a minimum of a 10 second wait to respawn another squad, this 10 seconds plus another aproximatly 5-10 seconds wasted on the the crash to render and register, plus the time it takes the newly spawned squad to run to where it needs to be adds up and could be a HALF a minute or more, more than enough to have lost a strategic advantage. A full squad it a much better tactical advantage, can locate foes precisely where as a plane cannot. So, why not just leave it as is cause in most cases its a poor tactic.
