First video - I gave bots an order to capture zone. Why are they climbing on that red wagon ?
Second video - why are they running around the objective instead of jumping through the window ?

Yeah navigation really needs an overhaul as well as commands. The arbitrary 50m limit feels ridiculous, and sending them to objectives feels very inconsistent.
Also, slightly related complaint, when you are charging with a bayonet/sword I wish the bots would also charge, if they have bayonets/swords. That way they can catch up if you are charging to get around they donât get behind you, or so you can charge and stab people as a group.
100% agree.
The main issue in my opinion is AIs facing the wrong way when youâre getting shot at. Not only do they likely get shot because they arent even facing the enemy, but when one guy gets shot, you swap to another but then hes facing the completely opposite direction so youâre completely disorientated and die instantly.
That shouldnt happen.
The uniqueness of the game is to play on squad, but the game AI is poorly developed, making the whole âuniquenessâ useless.
Why would someone could want 6 AI running around doing absolutely nothing but getting killed by your enemy, jumping around over things, looking at nowhere, getting outside as soon as the artillery attack starts?
Developers have been âtweakingâ the AI since 2021, but itâs exactly the same year after year.
Agreed.
My squadmate loves sniping and general long range play style but is sick and tired of stupid AIs crawling, running and jumping in front of him, obstructing his sight and drawing unwanted attention.
He has tried pressing âXâ way away, sometimes in a completely different room but it never works.
I know for myself Im usually the one building stuff and everytime I press X to make my other engineers speed up building all it does is make them âdefend this spotâ.
Even when I am successful in selecting âassist with buildâ they never help!
They can be a few metres behind me yet for whatever reason take AGES to walk up, remember where they put their hammer and start hammering
(Im usually like 90% done before the AI idiots start helping which completely defeats the purpose of having a whole squad of engineers!)
Just on pressing âXâ it doesnt work either. Some maps you can run say 10 metres and theyll stay, others I run barely 4 metres and they are following me. Then weve got the classic where the player goes prone but the AIs continue to stand up and even climb on top of the trench and might as well be waving at the enemy and yelling Weâre Over Here!"
Sending the bots to the objective rather than a set point works pretty well for me, plus it never has issues with the 50 meters away limit.
Fair, but who wants them running to the objective where they will get killed?
Lets suppose youâre sniping. Thereâs no reason why the AIs shouldnt be able to wait in an adjacent room where they can be respawned to, used to provide ammo and so forth, instead of moving around in front of the sniper.
In short, act normal. As they say in The Lego Movie: âSince when is running around, screaming, acting normal??â
Also what if the objective is controlled by the enemy. You might be pinned down in a shell hole away from the objective and you want your guys to stay in the damn hole and keep their heads down, not do the Hokey Pokey on top of it where the enemy will get free kills.
Oh yeah I agree that sending the ai to a set spot works horribly, not trying to deny that, I just figured Iâd mention my (shitty) workaround since it could help for someone else
I run and find a place for my AI soldiers, then order them to stay in that spot. I get killed and all the AI bots are in different places. Most are outside the building I told to them to stay in, another one or two of them took it upon themselves to go upstairs and maybe one or two actually stayed where I told them to. Not to mention them getting in your way while youâre trying to shoot the enemy which ends up getting you and your bots killed.
Another irritant is that when you go in through a window and order them to come and stay in that room, they all seem to have to run to the front door where they are immediately killed. So, only half the time anymore donât even attempt to tell them to stay since they donât, and they rarely attack a position that I order them to.
