I personally dislike people who exclusively uses grenade launchers for no reason instead of a normal weapon, the idea of a grenade launcher to be shot at a house where there are enemies is great and all, yet it does not work many times, or even if you see many enemies together many times you may think that it would be a good idea to use the grenade launcher, you shot a grenade and some how no one dies and then you just get to recreate a execution by firing squad historic moment.
I know many people dislikes the grenade launcher gimmick, and some other people really loves it.
What is the current approach that the devs have with this mechanic that has not been touched in a while? Are there any plans to fix it?
What if the grenades are fixed, and to prevent people from “over” spamming it instead of each grenade launcher having 3-2 nades it is reduced to a limit of 1, therefore pushing players to use the grenade in a more responsible way. Maybe limiting grenade launchers per squad to avoid 9 rifleman squads with full grenade launchers bs?
Or if any of this is too much just remove them completely, I personally find that the current status of the grenade launchers is not good enough to even be a thing when considering the balance of weapons given how inconsistent it is to use this mechanic. Removing them opens a window that allows for the devs to balance certain weapons in a better and while it may seem less dynamic, it is still not less dynamic than spamming grenade launchers without ever shooting a normal bullet.

I played with grenade launchers pre nerf, and thinking about it now, I feel like grenade launcher nerf wasn’t necessary , never had huge moments with them like I had with pre nerf impact grenades, no idea why people complained about them, yeah 9 man running around with it must be so bad experience but like u suggested, limiting grenade numbers or soldiers that can use it would be better nerf.
I personally don’t think that it was necessary either, they were more popular that is true but I never felt like “omg that guy running around with grenade launchers did won the match, he solo carried and I was unable to ever do anything about it” some times is ok to nerf popular shit until everyone forgets and then to do slight buffs.
I think these only could become less handy to use, longer reload, and a need of a setup would get things done.
But I would say the same about the rocket launchers, those are wayyyy to easy to use and move around. Not to mention their extremely fast fire rate.
I don’t get why tank cannons and field guns require so much of time to aim and reload them when AT Launchers have 0 downsides like that

They should have just limited the number of soldiers per squad that could carry a rifle with grenade launcher instead of nerfing them into the ground.
Or they could have made them only usable in a similar way to the Mortar, since I don’t think soldiers generally shot rifle grenades from the shoulder. They would place the butt of the gun on the ground at an angle and shoot the grenades in an arc instead of just straight. (Though some people may feel this is an even bigger nerf than just reducing their damage)
IMO they should have done both of the things above. Limited them to 1 or 2 per squad while also making them function similar to a Mortar, while keeping their original high damage. (They could add a visible “Arc Line” that shows you where your grenade is going to land so you aren’t just wasting your grenades trying to figure out how much you need to arc to hit an upstairs window or whatever)

I thought of this before. It woulf be a good Idea to limit a rifle squad to one GL and an AT squad for example could get three. I think that GLs should honestly get one extra grenade if they do end up having a limit per squad. I love running my VPGS in my squads, nice for taking out tanks.

do you want a fix?, I tell you how: make them usable only for AT soldiers or mortar soldiers, similar like the RMN-50 but make it be NOT able to use to any unit who aren’t AT or mortarman, that include riflemen, then, we can revert some nerfs
