What’s up with them? Had a match where my Tiger got penned all the way thru, but it was just crew deaths with pretty much no damage to parts. Like it came out from the other end.
Do they have no explosive fill or something?

fecker is burning and manages to outrun my reload speed.

Aim for the sides of the hull, that’s where the Tiger’s ammo is, and if you hit that, it’s typically a oneshot.

well that makes sense now that i think about it
usually, from the fronts you can pen the checks of the frontal box chassy, ( to the right ) near the driver if he is facing you and not angled, that’s where the ammo are stored 
( most of the tigers that i face… do not angle… )
Longer barrels exerted more pressure on the shell than short ones, so the shell needed more metal casing to prevent it from collapsing inside the gun. I don’t know specifically for the firefly but that’s probably what is happening.
That’s why the Panther has more penetration but less power than the Tiger, longer barrel=more velocity, but less diameter=more metal casing needed in the place of the explosive content.

noticed that too, difference in the amount of shell explosive filament between Tiger and Panther is insane

Yeah, another example we have in game is the Zis-4 vs the F-34 guns, the 57mm has WAY more penetration capacity than the 19mm wider F-34.

Only going up 13mm in shell diameter made for a wider and larger shell that had 3 times thr HDX. Its why in game when you pen with that 88, its almost always a OHK.
That shell just ripped things apart. But the Panther could pen more armor because that L70 barrel gave the shell a lot more velocity.
One of the reasons the Jagdpanther was so damn good at killing tanks is it got both. An 88 with a long barrel.
Even the Pershing / Jumbo wasn’t safe.
