the thing that bothers me about this screen saver are the faces of the soldiers, they dosent seem to be underfire struggling wounded.
they are just like this ._.

I guess they are trying to say if you don’t own the MP18 squad you ain’t cool.
Also the guy on the left holds the gun in a way that would more than likely mess up MP18’s feed system.
The MP18 haven’t had fed issuesand worked fine with magazine used as a grip - although it was more common to grap the magazine from below.
iirc I saw it in a C&Srsenal video on YT about the MP-18 where they said that the manual expressely perscribed the shooter to use the undergrip instead of the magazine well partially due to the reason that the magazine will become lighter and lighter as the bullets go, and an average conscript will lose accuracy due to shifting balance, and partially because the magazie well was finnicky and additional pressure or force by hand wasn’t advised.
Ok, the magazine sticks actually quite deep in the gun, being covered and hold into position.
So this would be absolutely ok:

I’m sorry, i actually overread that you were related to the manual. 
That, of course, is absolutely true. Practically the feeding process wasn’t harmed either way. The way it is held on the upper picture was quite common and suggested in usage, because of providing a much better gun balance (“little” bit heavier on left side. :D) .
