The G.55 sottoserie 0 is a decent aircraft, no doubt about it, its the best Italian fighter aircraft at the moment and can be effectively used in BR5 by experienced pilots, but that is true for most BR3 fighter aircraft.
The G.55 does not stand out with its suspended armament, speed or turn rate even at BR3 thus it gets easily overshadowed by the bf-109 G series on BR4. Some veterans may even remember that the G.55 was even meant to be BR3 but was moved at the last minute to BR4 just before the merge most likely because someone who had never played with it, complained about its turn rate.
The problem is La-7 and G.55 are very comparable the Ki-100 has Huge Nose and very little life so its very pepper plane very easily damaged specially in frontal engagements its not on their level and P-51D-5 is amazing but sometimes lacks firepower and its bad at dogfights. Yak-3 has no bombs. So all the 3 planes have some big downsides while planes like La-7 and G.55 are really one of the best planes for Enlisted maps.
its Ok there is worse try the FW as a FW player I dont mind the P-51D-5 very easy to do rolls with it and doge incoming bullets its on acceptable level
Yes I flew them a lot, they roll around and make bombing difficult (BR5 version), but they don’t cause much of a problem for rocket version and dogfights. The Mustang goes up and down, which doesn’t cause much of a problem for bombing. But it does make dogfights difficult, especially with its low caliber machine gun.
I can’t upload the image. But look at the stats. It’s only slightly better maneuverable than the planes you listed above. Also only two 100kg bombs and a small number of rounds. This should be a BR4 at its strictest. But I think it would easily be a BR3.
Well I play it its very good plane but it lacks bombs for BR V and if the G.55 goes down its good to put the La 7 to BR IV and La-7B-20 to BR V.
This depends on the plane if its a plane with 600 km/h + and good guns and acceptable turn you can beat the jets but while you are trying to kill them they do so much damage that they have won the game for their team. Specially if they just ignore you.
Ohh the machine guns are not low caliber they are high caliber if you have 6x12.7 mm is fine the problem is if you have 4x12.7 simply its not a dogfighter but its a good ambusher and its good at high altitude with the Jet spam actually its very good plane against Jets specially against the Jabo.
depends how many auto-cannons if you are against a Zero you are fine even against Ki-100 you are fine since it has huge nose so in frontal engagement he may kill you but for sure he will be damaged enough so he will have to crash and if you come from high altitude against it also you are in an advantage just don’t dog fight it. Best use of P-51D-5 is in combination with P38 working together or use it as an ambush plane with a good dogfighter plane in your rotation. But yes if you are against planes like G.55 yeah its very strong enemy.
G55 was my favourite before changing to fw190 then to me262, it was such a good plane to me even in br 5, but I prefer to see g55 in br 3 rather than broken fw
how so?
all of these aircraft are very very comparable, even the P-51 D Mustang turns only slightly slower than the other BR3s thanks to its much higher speed.
2x 250 kg bombs is a much bigger power creep in my opinion than a little bit of extra ammo (which you can only exploit against bomber calls really).
0ne of theses things is not like the other one of these things does not belong fiat
its not just more bullets its more guns along cannons
all but the p51 have 20mms
the yak and ki have 2 20mms and 2 12.7
the fiats has 2 20mms and 4 1.7mms
than a little bit of extra ammo (which you can only exploit against bomber calls really).
then you wont mind
a remove 2 12.7mm guns
b replace 2 20mms cannons with 12.7 mm guns
if its not important
either its important and needs changed
or not important in which case why not
