Since Germany has FG42 and since then M2 Carbine doesn’t look like it will do the job do you guys think that something like restoring the .45 ACP damage would balance the plainfield somewhat since there’s not any American gun in the fg42 level tbh, so what do you guys think?

The FG42 should be a machine gunners weapon or a special class for paratroopers only. The BAR would be the best match with its 20 round mag, full powered cartridge and full auto capability because the americans simply didnt have anything like the FG42 or the StG

In Berlin test it was classified as LMG and wielded by gunners. But instead of that I would prefer seeing them locked only to paratrooper squads, not another class. Just for example lets give it to mortar squad in Normandy. Or make make that trooper squad II paratroopers too. But nobody beside them should carry FG42s

Yeah the answer really is there is no counter because it isnt a fair contest. The M1/M2 is more of an SMG and the FG42 is more of an LMG. They need a special class to use them or make them assaulter/gunner specials
All gunners or one of MG squads? I’m okay with second option but first one will be almost as wierd to me as every WH trooper running with that gun.
I mean every german assaulter can have the FNAB and every american can have a ross rifle. Game already has alot of weird and out of place things like that. I dont like it but I also dont think that will change

Yes, some things are wierd with weapon choices but that disscussion about FG42 and weapon limits has grown very big, so it is a chance that devs will consider doing something with it. We are still in beta, so there is place for some changes. If not - we will live with it. Enlisted is a good game anyway. But maybe it will become even better.

It would be like “gunner III” that has the para uniforms. They’d still be placeable in other squads, though.

It’s literally just another light machine gun. Just like the M2 Carbine is just another SMG, effectively. Both sides get an automatic weapon for regular infantry.
This is opening a can of worms.
This approach would also mean to take away the x8 Scope of US Snipers and replae it with the 2.2 which was used by the Amry…USMC had x5 and x8 scopes. and this is just the first thing which comes to mind.
At the point we are right now there are many aspects that arent balanced.
Look at the Tanks! Only Pumy vs. Stuart can be disputed and that only in a Tank vs. Tank setting. Yes the Stuart has eesentially no HE but way better turret rotation and MGs which don’t overheat after 2 seconds. All tanks after these to are heavyly in favour of the US side…hell the Pz IV J with 5°/s turret rotation is nearly useless on the small maps of a first person shooter. A Stug would be more useful than this thing.
Planes: Also obviously not intended as a fair match. The Bf 110 is a beast of a ground attacker when unoopposed but dead fish in the water as soon as a P38 is in the air which is much lighter and nimbler - yet less capable vs ground. The fighters are hard to compare since the P51 is bugged ( Bf 100 reticle, too since some days). Bombers seem to bee “unfinished” at best. Ju 188’s flightmodel is like being helpless drunk, has graphic glitches in it’s cockpit view and throws you out of the game because of inactivity. A20 is more controlable, has frontal guns and 25% more bombs.
To close the circle here: Either the devs intended not to match everything of one nation with an equal pendand of the other side or they have very strange views.

Probably not implemented in game yet, but looks like soon allies will receive it.

is that a 30cal like lighter version?
It was made by a couple of US marines out of downed aircraft MGs that fire MUCH faster and hacked M1 Garand stocks. This was right before Iwo Jima. Only several were made
Already a good solution for something comparable to the FG-42, M1941 Johnson machine gun. It’s essentially is the same kinda weapon, a 20 round LMG designed to be lightweight.

As the M2/STG .30cal/8mm would be more comparable to each other as they both used smaller pistol rounds.
But yeah the FG42 both does more damage and has less recoil (does Gaijin just hate the M1/M2 platform as they’re both trash lol.)
The USA side is already filled with fantasy weapons that should never be in the Normandy campaign and your suggesting more fantasy weapons to counter weapons that were ACTUALLY used in Normandy? How much more hand holding do Americans wants?
