FG-42s animation needs fixing (and new mechanism)

First, the easy part : FG-42 II’s bolt will be pull when alt reload

Second, FG-42 II’s animation discard mag when reloading it. So the unfinished mag shouldn’t be magically retrieved.
There two solutions for this: Makes new mechanism for player the choose Tactical reload/Speed reload or just make Speed reload only happen when mag is completely depleted.


At last, as far as I know FG-42 is open bolt when full auto; closed bolt when semi auto.
That means in full auto mode there will be no “one in chamber”, this is also true for some other weapon like johnson lmg and specific models of T-20, I think they should have unique animations and mechanics.

Well it would be insane if the devs managed to simulate that correctly, not to mention that after switching the fire mode the bolt position will change only after a shot was taken, which would make the animations increadibly complicated.

Personally I would like to see the FG42 bipod folded up first, because that is actually something that greatly influences the visuals of the gun.

90% of the players wouldn’t even notice a difference in bolt position - especially considering that most play in full auto anyways.

they have already addressed this will be fixed. It was mentioned when they gave FG 42 II alt reload.

the game engine is like 20 years old at this point, so I don’t think the animations can get much better
