FG 42 defaulted to automatic fire mode

FG 42 really needs to have it’s fire mode set automatic as default. It’s really annoying to be engaged in a firefight only to be downed and find that all your squad mates are dead because, despite having a better automatic rifle than the allies, your soldier couldn’t figure out to change firing mode.

The allied late game rifles AVT, FA, and M2 carbine have automatic fire mode as default so why not the FG?
It can get frustrating when you know you could have won a fight but lost it due to balance issues (as if we don’t have enough of them already).

At least give us an universal squad command to set automatic firing modes on all available weapons, doing it individually is very tedious and sometimes you don’t have extra seconds to waste when enemies are capturing.

None of them should default to automatic. Auto weapon spam is already way too annoying.

The notion that what fire mode a weapon is defaulted to is a balancing feature is absolutely ridiculous. You aren’t balancing the weapon, you are slightly inconveniencing everyone that is using it. Just let players set the preferred fire mode on the weapon from the main menu.

I would also prefer if my squad monkeys could use rifle grenade launcher for themselves, not unequip it, they literally have to fire wherever at the enemies general direction, impossible.

They should let us choose the default mode of the weapon or put the FG42 as automatic like every other weapon… And btw change this trash suppressor sound when firing.

And apparently it didnt help.

No built of fg42 and fg42 ii(all variants) are less than 10 k.
And its spesific weapon for german paras.
But its just glorified semi auto or auto rifle that can be used by any random rifleman.
This is totally bs from the start.
And now you want to add auto mod for fg 42 and making already annoying smg spam even more malignant ?
Somethime i wonder that people who write suggestions like this ever played game regularly ?

These weapons should be limited and then buffed (more ammo, default full auto and so on).
That and of course the AVT-40 should have its 0.25 recoil multiplier removed.

dark flow actually adds that allies will crying tears of blood Because they cannot run into rooms killing X number of Germans because they don’t have automatic rifles

FGs set to semi auto as default is probably due to the devs trying desperately to make our old buddy wastedwoodsman shut up.

Fire mode selection should be on a per squad basis just like formation and behaviour. Set it once per squad and have it saved afterwards.

That could actually have the potential for adding some tactical depth to the game, setting all units in the squad to “semi” will make the AI take more time and do carefully aimed shots, while setting the squad to full auto will make the AI do more suppressive fire and give them faster reaction at close ranges.
