FFI/Partisans/The Underground

A new squad and soldier class idea

“Rebels” / “ resistance”

A small squad of FFI/Partisans/ECT that whole ordeal would be about captured enemy weapons

They would have the a few unique ability of at first spawning only with guns you have unlocked and armed them with, But as you level them you would unlock a perk in the blue tree about spawning with random captured weapons,

OR

They spawn in with basic rifles and can’t change that BUT when you pick up any enemy weapons the whole squad gets that weapon, So let’s say you pick up an MG-42 now all other squad members have an mg-42

Spawning with a car/transport which DOESN’T take up a tank slot and even stands as a medical and/or ammo station, It’s of course just a car with special markings or camo to show it different from the normal cars and such on the map, I highly doubt this would be added as it might be a bit op, but at the same time it is only a car and allows the squad to really get around to do the rest of their skills

And the big one: they can refill enemy weapons from friendly ammo stations.

And one that could easily be used instead: They cost only half that of spawning a squad, So they are more suitable as a last ditch effort team.

The idea behind the rebel class is to be aggressive and play a sort of gun game type of play style, Death is expected but even then this squad is meant to be a more powerful replacement to something like riflemen,

Over all I would expect them to be semi more useful then medics, but not overly useful that they replace things like flame thowers, Tankers, or in general other such things

While this type of suggestion has come up before, I’m glad you aren’t asking for them to be a “spy” sort of class.

That aside, each faction has their own weapons they can spawn with for balance reasons. You can pick up the enemy weapons while on the field, and that is fine because that means its not something you would be able to do reliably.
If you wish to use the other team’s weapons, I suggest you go play on that side.

You are literally asking for two other classes to be made pretty much completely obsolete to make this happen. Engineers and medics have their place with these. If you wish to resupply teammates with ammo, take an engineer, build ammo boxes. If you wish to heal teammates and resupply them with medkits, take a medic. (After the merge, they will be available for all sides.)

This just means you can spam more of them, and while firepower is about a third of what wins the fight, troop numbers are another third. With this suggestion, you asking that they get the advantage of numbers AND access to superior firepower that their side may not have in that instance.

Again, classes that spam troops are already around. “more powerful replacement to something like riflemen” contrary to what people may think, riflemen are FAR from useless. They are the only troops that can carry rifles with GL for one thing. They can be slotted into ANY squad without needing a special slot to be unlocked. Their overall combat effectiveness can be made quite high due to a large number of perk points across all three categories. Their “rifleman squads” are the largest squads in the game.

Making them “more powerful than riflemen” is just going to result in another class akin to flamethrowers and paratroopers: excessively powerful with no other counter than another OP squad.

As I said, medics DO have their use. It may not be the same exact spam and rush tactic that flamethrowers, assaulters, etc use, but they are quite useful. A well placed medic box and troops with the right perks and equipment to make use of them is an extremely powerful force to be reckoned with. As is their ability to pick people up on the fly with very little time taken to do so. Lastly, lets not forget if they have the right perks on, they can rapidly fully heal soldiers with vitality perk and keep them moving.

I do agree with many of what you said, I did point out the car might be a tad bit op and now that I think of it again I do 100% agree with you, it should be used for transportation, I never said riflemen are useless in fact I use a whole squad of riflemen for all my forces as they are very very useful, IRL the ffi and other enemy forces were known for using enemy weapons which is why I suggested they would use them or have the abilities related to using enemy weapons, it’s why I think spawning with a basic semi automatic rifle or bolt action would be a good suitable thing, think of paratroopers,

In fact maybe their car could do the same as the box paratroopers get, allow them to choice a play style best suited to their wish. But that would be op. I thought about that as an ability and I’m not sure it’s wise. Rebel units could be super interesting as a class I feel and offer a unique gameplay feeling that isn’t akin to slapping down a medical box and being well an assault that can heal like the medics, Medics aren’t useless and I prefer medics over assaulters imo, I also feel that rebels could offer more to the game then of course “spies” which I heavily disagree with as that doesn’t fit in enlisted.

Im trying to make them a bit like how they acted irl in a way, While also trying to fit it into an enlisted type vibe.

  1. I’m glad you took a step back and listened to what I said rather than getting belligerent and defensive like so many do. I’m only interested in game balance, and by the look of it, you are too. Thank you.

  2. I’m more than happy to help come up with ideas that could make them viable without becoming OP or stepping on other classes toes, but I’ll need some time to do some research on them. See if there is something other than just “using the enemies’ weapons” that could make them a worthwhile addition.

Of course I would love to hear your ideas and we can throw them around to see what we can do, All and all I’m here to make suggestions and see what might be interesting as I love enlisted and would want balance, I play a ton of both sides, we don’t want anything like paratroopers again nor anything that flat out over steps another role fully. Thank you as well for being civil and throwing some constructive feedback in!

We can only hope the devs also take interest in one of the most interesting parts of World War Two; the rebel groups, There’s tons they can choose from as well which I feel will make a very unique feeling. Perhaps they could even use weapons of their home nation, As well as stens. I do think some should be able to use German weapons or have perks related to it, Perhaps just as simple as allowing to be refilled from friendly ammo boxes after being picked up from dead enemies.

Then there is the biggest thing I would say that I’m missing: The axis counter squad to them.

all i’m getting from the suggestion is “i want an allied squad that can quickly equip itself with the good axis gear for the entire squad, and easily refill our stolen weapons ammo. and maybe get a free supply vehicle too if i can get that”.

it sounds kinda silly when packaged like that now that i typed it out

As far as this part goes, IDK if you could find a similar type squad for the Axis side, otherwise perhaps its a premium squad?

That said, I did some research and here is my suggestion:

  • First of all, their basic equipment that they get is actually a pistol each. Much like how you get a tanker squad originally. They do not get rifles or other primary weapons to begin with.
  • They get access to additional unique perks specifically for usage of pistols, perhaps better handling, reloading, or faster run speed with pistol in hand.
  • When they pick up a weapon off the ground, regardless of if its from their team or the enemies, it comes with however much ammo that person had left, instead of capping it at 2 mags like it currently does for everyone else.
  • (Potential idea, especially up for discussion) The engineer of this squad can build a crate that teammates can access, filled with Sten SMGs. Limit is one per player, so you can’t fully outfit a squad with them.

This seems like an overall more historical fit as well as better game balance without overstep.

I like idea of partisans.

While I like the idea of adding partisans into the game. I do not support adding a whole new class.
I just want them having different clothing and different weapons from the regular army.

I just want her MP5
