Feedback and ideas

Hi all,

So I have been playing the game for about 1 day now (huge experience :smiley:), although let’s be honest it is quite an intuitive game.

Intro:
Let me start that I love these type of games. I used to play Brothers in Arms back them (similar concept with NPC controlled squad, but on a much smaller scale) and lately Hell Let Loose and Conqueror’s Blade, Mount and Blade. I really love what it is at this stage, but I have some minor comments/ideas.

  1. NPC squad behavior
    For me this is the biggest field which needs improvement. I would love to see “useful” NPC behavior like:
  • using the cover system properly (window, door, peaking, sandbag, etc.)
  • behaving differently during offense and defence
  • using emplaced weapon like MG, PAK, AA (maybe 1 star units 50% hit chance and max star units have 90% hit chance)
  • better command system which allows similar concept like Conqueror’s Blade (can perform multiple actions, but with simple button command)
  1. If it won’t get regularly updated, it can get repetative
  • I know there will be at least 4 campaigns, and it takes a huuuuge effort to model different fields, maybe at a much later stage, there could be a community mapping contest to keep the game fresh. Also allowing skirmish games.
  1. More customisation option (even as paid content)
  • for example I would love to see that in each squad 1 unit will be visualised as an officer.
  1. Nation vs. Nation (clan vs. clan)
    Europe to be conquered (similar idea like Heroes and Generals or World of Tanks - faction based clans can hold areas, towns for benefits). Later stage obviously.

  2. More vehicle options

  • Mechanised infantry
  • More building options (mines?)
  • More planes (bomber?)
  • More tanks (infantry can sit on tanks as transport)
  1. In-game voice chat?
  • between squads, team only to avoid public shouting kids

I know many ideas are for later stage… but just sharing my thoughts :slight_smile:

Please keep the great track guys! this will likely be my favorit game! :slight_smile:

For point 5 you should keep in mind that the CBT is rn to categorize bugs and polish mechanics so dont expect new stuff anytime soon ^^

Agreed. Issue is, that afaik, the game runs on a single core. That means that the AI takes up quite a lot of processing power, so the devs can’t give them too many extra calculations.

could be interested, if they added something like war thunder’s SDK for enlisted.

Probably gonna be paid, yes. I imagine diffrent uniform skins, weapon holsters, ammo pouches, weapon skins (only stuff like diffrent wood styles, such as a birchwood stock for your kar98k), etc.

Jeeps and the like are already in the game files, they also work for individual soldiers as shown in Cuisine Royale. They just have to make them work with AI. Issue is that those vehicles were never ment to transport 7 soldiers, aka max squad size. Not sure how they plan on fixing that

I really dislike the idea of mines being added. They are a passive weapon that have a very low skill/effort investment (literally just having to place it on the ground) but can have massive rewards (full squad wipeouts if they are clustered toghetter) and the skill/effort required to counter it is disproportionately higher:

  • First, you need to see the mine.

Can be hard, as it literally can be anywhere, including inside of bushes. Furthermore, they can have the same color as the ground, making it even more difficult. It’s not like you are always watching where you walk as you need to be able to look around you for threats

  • Then, you need to create some distance and shoot it

Might not sound too hard but keep in mind that you could get shot at any time while doing this and you could still accidentially blow up one of your teammates.

same issue as with the mines: imagine someone carpet bombing with 50-100kg bombs, which are as powerfull or more powerfull than grenades. Some of the early bombers could carry 20+ of those. Not really balanced. They also would have a lot of gunners protecting them against planes.

Well they at least have to replace the Pz3B as it never was used in Moscow. I imagine they would add stuff like a T-28, Pz35/38t, JagdPz1, BT-5 for Moscow. Other campaigns have other tanks, of course.

Already exists but seems so difficult to get to work nobody bothers.
