After playing for a while in the update, I came to the following points of feedback:
Automatic weapons increased recoil is ok, in reality I rather have recoil than magic dispersión values in automatic guns, at least recoil adds a skill requirement rather than just praying to RNGsus for your bullets to go to their intended targets, please reduce unrealistic dispersión and ad recoil instead, that at least makes the game more fun and adds a mechanic players can train and improve on.
on the previous point I have to add that the AVS and PPSH-41 are as good as they used to be, I don’t get all the complaining about them, you can still hit targets at the same distances with well aimed shots or bursts in the case of PPSH-41.
the bolt action buff combined with the improved AI means that bots kill each other way faster than before, so I notice that this ended up having an interesting effect, where a single player gets to have less impact than in the outcome of a battle than they did before, mostly because they used to be able to switch in between the bots to get the most out of each soldier in the squad, where as now most bots will be dead before the player’s bot dies. leaving a higher weight in having a team that is overall more skilled than having that one guy that just slaughters large chunks of the enemy team on his own.
this does result in less frustration for less skilled players but more frustration for the more dedicated players. but it feels like a trade off that the devs made purposefully. so it is ok I guess.
currently bullets can exit up to 30 degrees from the barrel, which is impossible, and since bullets dont disperse over distance but exit the barrel at impossible angles it is less accurate than it should be at closer ranges.
also most guns have 2 or 3 times the dispersión they should have, specially if you had move a bit before stopping to fire
as explained before, it isn’t as large and it comes to be by changes of direction over distance, not by magically exiting the barrel at impossible angles
If you buff them and deploy them, I can actually kind of snip with them, with short controlled bursts, the problem with any automatic gun a.k.a. machine gun is that info auto there going to be inaccurate, The Bren was supposedly an extremely accurate gun if you only fired about one round at a time but if you put it into full auto all that went out the window.
But all of that real-world stuff only goes so far in the game it really depends on what they want to do with the model, and one thing I think we’ve seen over and over and over again is that these guys are not terribly concerned with being historically accurate about much of anything
but i mean they should know how much people dislike the dispersion, its incredibly annoying because for each bullet that you fire, you have to pray it hits at least something. i’d rather have something 100 times worse than the FG42 recoil rather than the dispersion that randomly throws your bullets around
If the dispersion in the game was the same as in the real world, no one would complain about it. But it isn’t even remotely the same, it is unrealistically extreme high, and the bullet exits the barrel from the beginning at impossible angles, rather than changing direction sightly over distance, which is what happens in real life, as a result weapons become inaccurate at distances where they should be accurate.
