FDA submachine gun (Italy, 1940s)
The FDA SMG was a basic blowback-operated gun chambered for the ubiquitous 9x19mm cartridge. From a technical standpoint it is not particularly interesting. However, the absence of information surrounding the gun is odd. It could possibly have been made by CLN partisans during the German occupation of Italy; it is said that engineers from FIAT secretly provided their technical expertise to Italian resistance movements during World War II, and one of the weapons developed as a result of this was the very rare Variara submachine gun.
