Failure of a system (Logistics-Weapons)

First of all I would like to note that people are harming themselves by actually engaging the “Updated” Logitics (lootbox system) weapons, take a look at the following screenshot.

To those that didn’t see it or knew about it, previously there was only one option which is indicated to by a semi box red color, the rest was introduced afterward in a blatant (more on that later) failed attempt at trying to remedy the effect of the lootbox system (Logistics).

The new system basically offered you a guaranteed chance of obtaining a specific weapon per amount of unlocks, Well that was all good to be said about it really. First engagement with it was with the PPD-34/38 (box) which should drop as it says “once every 4 opens”, the first dropped on the very first open up while the second was numbered at 6 (you can see your total unlocks in the card tooltip), first I though it was guaranteed the first unlock (which would have been a positive) -which would be numbered as openning 1 the second is at 6 which means it’s true every 4 opens- but it wasn’t the case.

Now to the main issue with it, if you didn’t notice already that non of the card that yield a certain weapons doesn’t offer a chance for equipment (medkits, grenades, etc…), it means that the only possible way for such player to gain midkits & grenades is through the newly unlock squads going there & stripping them.

To those wondering what those colors means, they are grouped based on how many opens you need to get the weapon displayed on the card, yellow=4, green=6, blue=7 & red line for costing 2 weapon card logistics (the colors doesn’t indicate anything beside the usage to group). Just by looking at the numbers required for you get guaranteed a weapon & the length it would take, if 4 wasn’t already bad on itself without giving a chance for equipment the later on weapons card only goes on the increase, noting that all what the other cards offer including the guaranteed stuff is available on the “weapons & equipment delivery” (reb box) & atop of that it cost only 1 to unlock, the last 2 indicated by a line is literally on a completely another level.

I talked before that there is literally no in between condition for such a system it’s either make or break, had the other cards also gives a chance for equipment the first option would be come completely redundant (& it really doesn’t show a good confidence in development since if it’s going to launch & be like that) considering the speed of which it would become redundant, it would remain the no go with the last 2 options since they cost 2 to open (if you can’t see the issue already).

I called it & still call it blatant failed attempt at remedying the lootboxs system (logistics) effect since this was the most thing the community complained about & asked for it’s change, there was literally nothing coming from the developers as of they are flagging it to get changed or not & the only way we knew about it is through that “Road Map” this means since 21st September (I can speak for myself only & I got invited first at this time) till 14th November. This shows that the developers (& I won’t interpret it as if they were deliberately screwing players over which is neither a good thing anyways) doesn’t even understand the principle of the issue with the system, it could came as literally just doing it without a faintest background of what they are even suppose to achieve by introducing such thing.

I know this is long & really appreciate anyone reading it fully, your thoughts & contributions are most welcome specially at point stuff that I missed or didn’t mention.

as far as i understand it is as followed:
you can get a PPD in box 1-3, but if you did not get one, you get it on the 4th
similarly, you can get one in box 5-7, if you didnt get one you get one on the 8th.
it’s guaranteed to be in one of the 4 boxes, not guaranteed on the 4th box specifically - which makes them worse than advertised still, but I thought I’d throw the info out there ^^

This is one of the worst cases of devs translating our suggestions completely wrong.
I did extensive tests on this when it first came out and I got MPs on the 4th draw always. Plus it does not give you anything else. While, I get SMGs from the completely random way too frequently.

Extremely extremely flawed system this one. I simply don’t find a point in using anything else other than the first lootbox.

Suggestion:
Give chance for grenades, health packs in every box. But make the cost of guaranteed item boxes 2 instead of one weapon token.

You are guaranteed one every 4 so if it wasn’t the counted in the tooltip 1 the 5th will be it, I get your point I wasn’t talking about the random one dropping but about the certain one to drop.

I don’t believe the community suggested other than it’s actual change & I mention again, for it not to be a lootbox system!, even the other suggestions I could say weren’t all the way detailed some asked for a corrency system which I’m sorta against but I would take it instead of a lootbox system.

yeah that seems to be in line with me except that I got that PPD-34/38 (box) the first unlock (1) the second was the fifth (6) there means there were 4 unlocks between the first & the second.

again with such system there is no middle point there is only a break point had they given that chance to all the rest it would be useless to a degree until you get to have the LMG then you would go back to it as no other box would give you a chance for such weapon & the specific one cost 2, it would be sorta the a savior for a while & that doesn’t save them from looking like they didn’t know anything about the problem, what the problem even is.

And I am saying that if you did get a random one, you do not get the “guaranteed” one except for by chance.

I believe that the reason why lootboxes were implemented this way after our feedback is the need to make players grind and most importantly make them WANT to grind, thus spend more time and possibly money.
I´m in strong disagreement with lootbox-like mechanics, but as long as its not left directly monetized (in theory, premium squad is your source of keys to weapon slot machine) or P2W, I get the reasoning behind it and while I do not like it, I respect it.

So, I´m content with that logic, however current system feels a bit punishing, as choosing “level” lootbox is removing chance to get medkits/grenades/etc just for a chance to get desired weapon.
Adding the rest of unlocked weaponry AND medkits/grenades/pistols etc. to each of the “level” lootbox would be better solution.

I admit that I never really used “level” lootboxes, I always used the very first one because of that reason, but from discussion here I´m getting impression that getting drop of desired weapon resets the chance (so 4th opening is not guaranteed, but RNG).
So, just in theory, if that is the case, this should also be removed and make that drop fixed on every 4th attempt. That shouldn´t be in the conflict with logic to create more grind, as with more options to get from each lootbox, chance to get desired weapon until 4th attempt is lowered anyway.
