I know that lately I have been giving very strange ideas and here comes another one: objects with unique benefits for the faction, something that you can replace in the binoculars slot or even the backpack with its penalties, I am going to give several concepts and ask the community what would you do and what benefits would they bring?
Japan: Battle Flag who increase everyone who it’s around you the speed but forces you carry mele weapon or pistol
Americans/Brits/Canadá,etc: Bagpipe with moral boost for increase attack speed who force you to move slower
Soviets: I can think of some kind of liquid courage, please, it’s not a joke about vodka and that it would increase the damage of hand-to-hand combat yet it makes your attacks can fail due rng
I like your ideas! I have suggested before the idea of equipable battle trophies which are earned through difficult in game achievements. The items could be captured flags, helmets, enemy weapons, captured items that would make you stand out compared to other players.
I dont like that. It could give you more melee damage and more speed but being invulnerable is too much even for short perioids. Imagine what one invulnerable flametrooper or assaulter could do in 10 seconds
I meant it as a kind of joke, but alright. In that case, it buffs the soldier’s HP to 30 (200%) for 1 minute. After that, it removes that bonus, and if a soldier had lost the equivalent of his base HP, he is reduced to downed, or if without a medkit, dead.
I don’t exactly like the effects of all those, I like the flag effect but think there could be different things for the rest. But yes I want factions to feel more unique, like Japan is the only one to get swords in the tech tree. I like it when factions are unique, like when Germans excel at MGs and Tanks but US excels at CAS and semi-auto battle rifles. When they added the M1 Bazooka to the USSR tech tree I was annoyed because it makes factions feel too similar when we balance too much.
