The use of explosion packs is broken in the game. A tank shouldn’t be able to be taken out so easily. Removing explosion packs would entice players to utilize anti-tank weapons effectively and fight more tank-on-tank battles as opposed to edge camping to slaughter infantry. TNT requires more skill as you need to place it and get to a safe distance to not sacrifice your soldier. TNT can also take care of APCs so that isn’t an issue. Explosion packs could remain in the game if they’re heavily restricted. Perhaps limit them to AT troops? Overall explosion pack spam is one of the major drawbacks of the game in my view and I hope a change can be made.
They’re bout the only way beginners can actually do anything about tanks before getting AT Gunners. Even then early AT Weapons are garbage

Imo they should either remove explosive packs or at least change them to proper AT grenades. 1,2kg of explosives (not even a shape charge) destroying even the heaviest tanks is simply stupid (though I guess it matches the stupidity of everything else in the game).

But I guess it’s just skill issue that not even marker appeared when I was constantly shooting T-34/85 to side of its turret and hull with ofenrohr.
Nah, I gave up on using constantly bugged AT weapons. And since EPs do not have auto cooking mechanic anymore, it kinda depends on the skill of throwerman.
It’s extremely easy to dodge any EP that has not been properly cooked.
imo explosion pack should deal less damage but in turn tanker crew wouldn’t be able to see grenade indicators to dodge them (unless commander is looking through the hatch) which would basically solve both unrealistic things at once, now explosion packs deal less damage but are harder to avoid. When there’s couple of players the tank will get swarmed with explosives.
I often see players utilize their anti-tank weapons. The problem is low tier at weapons like non semi auto at rifle is trash and at weapons can only be use by at soldier.
Grey zone camping doesn’t stop tank on tank battles.
Not necessary, since sacrificing your soldier is very common in this game.
Looks like you never met the real explosive pack spam. Back in the day, when the explosive pack is good against infantry, you often saw players spamming 3 explosive pack by bringing large grenade pouch.
If I were to change anything about EP it would be that they only work on the underside of some of the slower heavier tanks. Everyone throws on top because it is easier but down below is true skill.
Otherwise, it is great where it is at. I don’t think it really needs changed.
You can see the indicator but most people cook it long enough you cannot react.
I 100% agree. I’ve been saying the same thing for a while, its good to have another person pushing the issue.
In my opinion, optimally explosive packs should be outright removed.
At the VERY LEAST, they should reduce the power down to where they will penetrate no more than 20mm of armor (which is akin to the power of early AT rifles). This will allow them to kill APCs, very light tanks, and detrack other tanks.
Once a tank is immobile, its only a matter of time until the crew jumps out in attempt to repair.
- TNT is an option
- Molotovs can kill tanks too
- AT mines
- killing the crew when they jump out
- AT weaponry
By reducing the threat from the easy “all-in-one” grenade the Explosive Pack has become, we will likely see more tanks push out of the greyzone.
