Is the a reason to pick a grenade over an explosion pack? With explosion pack having a larger blast radius (I believe) and having the capability to destroy tanks, isn’t it just a straight upgrade over a hand grenade? I feel like there should be some kind of an downside to the tnt since it is more effective at taking out both tanks and infantry atm. It has longer cook time but that’s about it.
i believe dem packs don’t have as much range as a grenade
Emmm… Not really.

Hand grenades while weaker, can be thrown considerably further and they have a much shorter fuse. In addition they appear to have bigger shrapnel radius.

Explosive packs are mainly used to kill tanks. They have a slower fuse (~5 seconds) and cannot be thrown very far and also fly slower.
It is as saying that RPG-7 is an upgrade of AK-47 since it has a higher blast radius. While you are technically correct, they are used for different purposes and have different downsides.
Explosive Pack wins because of ability to be used against vehicles (and clearing engineer built structures), but if you’ve got a grenade bag on a soldier, I’d carry one explosive pack and rest grenades.
Okay but you have to give the RPG the same fire rate as AK and same maintenance cost and pieces in stockpile. The very reason I want a change in one of the grenades is because even tho they should be used for different purposes they are not. You can cook your tnt meaning it’s fuse can be as long as you want it to be, and I’ve almost never encountered a problem with range when using it. If the only upside to hand grenade is a longer throw range and blast radius, it makes no sense to pick it since the upside to tnt is just so much bigger. (also no idea about the blast radius, from my experience hand grenade has a bigger one outside while tnt can clear buildings much easier)
Have a point here there is only 2 grenades in this game.
TNT and Smoke
-TnT has the same fuse time as the frag (4 seconds til you auto throw)
-TnT deals with everything (throw one in an objective room, instantly kill anyone in that room? Throw it at a tank ontop or below?, that tank is instantly dead.)
-Frag grenade throw range is nice, but it’s really easy for the grenade to bounce around and go off from where you want it to land, and at further ranges it becomes harder to reliably kill with it.
-TnT
Literally every soldier I have has 2 explosive packs I use em for everything, the normal grenades are just collecting dust In my storage
