Experimental LMG TKB-340 Designed by Galkin and Gomozov (USSR 1943)

the TKB-340 design by Galkin and Gomozov also participated in the competition for a light machine gun (for a 7.62x25TT pistol cartridge). The TKB-340 machine gun from 1943 had a design with automation based on a free bolt recoil, folding bipods and a folding metal butt. What is noteworthy is that the TKB-340 was the first to be presented for testing

ТКБ-340 3
ТКБ-340 4
The machine gun weighs 4.4 kg, the bolt weighs 0.62 kg. The length in the firing position is 840 mm, with the stock folded - 635 mm. The barrel length is 350 mm. The initial bullet velocity consistently exceeded the 520 m/s required by the TTT at a rate of fire of 531 rounds per minute.

Yeah issue we already got a soviet condors that’s the LAD lmg

sure but this is 500rpm, could be a BR3 conders type easily.

Would be a cool BP/ event/ premium

Eeeh the lad is br5 I doubt a 100 rnd belt would make it br3

Maybe, all the 73 rd 1000rpm SMGs already exist there in soviet tree at 4.

Extra 25% ammo for 1/2 the ROF isint the best trade off tbh.

IF rare enough or poorly statted could have a case for br3. Otherwise agree ill be aok in 4

The weapon’s rate of fire is unknown.

The author of the original article referred to my thread on Forum Guns, my thread on Enlisted Forum and an article in Kalashnikov magazine (by the way, all the photos were taken from my thread on Ru Forum, this is not the first time this author has stolen my photos).

So, in the Kalashnikov magazine there is this quote:

"The first results began to arrive in June. Thus, TsKB-14 provided designs for the TKB-340 machine gun designed by Galkin-Gomozov and the TKB-341 designed by A.P. Zubarev. On July 8, OKB-15 acquainted the Artkom representative with the first prototype that had already been made, giving him the opportunity to test it by firing, and demonstrated designs for three more variants. And finally, on August 8, NIPSVO tested the “LDA light machine gun” (that is how it was recorded in the test report) designed by V. Lyuty, V. Deykin, and N. Afanasyev.

The first stage was testing the machine gun by firing - 150 shots in short bursts and another 150 in two long bursts. The machine gun fired all 300 shots without a single delay. The initial bullet velocity consistently exceeded the 520 m/s required by the TTT at a rate of fire of 531 shots per minute."

As a native Russian speaker, I believe that the rate of fire of 531 rounds per minute refers to the LAD machine gun.
