Fall of Singapore or the Battle of Manila could do well as allied Berlin equivalent with ultra dense city ruin map
in quick resume: americanoids will cry about “another island map”, thy are so feed up about gavutu,aligator creek,munda trail,etc… yet YES, I want it xD
Id like Singapore myself. A very unique map and very important event for the British, Australia + New Zealand, all the Allies really because it was a literal showcase of the fact that “The British can’t help us” so we had to turn to USA.
Would also make sense as a Japan attack, Allies defend map (unlike the nonsense ‘reverse D Day’)
Manila Ive supported for urban warfare but we do have Burma at the moment with some urban warfare.
I’m really curious to get the devs explanations as to why they always go with ‘generic geography’ based maps rather than real battles.
Like Burma map isnt actually anywhere in Burma.
If they did Manila it would be like ‘generic Filipino city’ or Singapore ‘South East Asian town and port’
Tunisia is probably the worst offender of this.
I think we need an amphibious operation like the Battle of Iwo Jima or the Battle of Tarawa.
DF needs to expand the maps to some of the ICONIC pacific theatre battles, like Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Manila, Bataan (Philippines), Saipan amongst others. These are some of the battles that should have already been in the game. And Manila would offer a big city with should allow a large playable map.
I like Burma, but why would DF add Burma before any of the other historic battle sites? Iwo Jima and Okinawa should have been no brainers.
Iwo Jima and Okinawa in my opinion are too similar to existing maps.
Burma is our first non Pacific island map for Japan and Allies.
It’s a forgotten theatre that deserved recognition.
I like the new Burma map, just wish we had more.
All that said I do support adding all the maps you suggested over time.
