Excessive amount of artillery calls and plane bombs

First of all i have to say that this game is absolutely amazing especially for a free to play and having cross platform aswell. The realism really does peek my interest although there is something that finds its way and becomes extremely annoying, that is the excessive amount of artillery calls and plane bombs. I do find it really cool that these features exist in the game but when there is an artillery call happening or a plane dropping bombs every minute it does become excessive to experience. In general i feel like the game is very good abd has a good a future ahead of it but i feel like there should be a nerf towards artillery calls and planes dropping bombs systematically.

I agree sometimes it is really too much when there are at least 2 radio squads and your spawn or objective is permanently shelled and time to time bomber unloads its gifts.
You get constant screen shaking which is annoying and bots cannot take cover so you often lose majority of your squad just as you spawn.

I still have a feeling when I drop 500 lb bombs that it still has that kind of effect.

it’s strange, not to see more people killed inside the houses from 100m away with a bomb

I told you guys back in the summer that any amount of bombs and arty will have complains. Set it to 5 minute recharge and replace bombs with mini grenades, you will still see someone complain about it.

To put it in perspective how it worked before endless stream of “nerf please” requests few month ago. Bombs had realistic payload and radius of effect - beyond the explosion radius itself, you have fragmentation too. The cone of fragmentation is now smaller and you can just go prone to avoid being hit by fragments. A 50kg bomb, now have a smaller explosion radius than a hand grenade. It takes multiple 50kg bombs to kill the smallest tank.
Artillery had the same time limit but no limit to amount of radio squads calling it. Radius of arty was nerfed, bots told to avoid artillery zone and calls are now limited to 2 per team. On top of that arty hardly damages any build structures and have no destructible effect on level geometry.

But to put it into perspective bomber wouldn’t rearm in mid air several hundred of meters away from battlefield and arty wasn’t that accurate and stopped when friendlies were nearby.
Also it is mostly squad vs squad game and it is really not fun to constantly die to those explosives you have little way of avoiding.

And infantry wouldn’t “respawn on rally point” and tank wouldn’t die to 3 candles of tnt. It’s a game, there are many ways to alter the mechanics and we proposed many different ways, devs just made them less strong, that’s it.

Airplanes/tanks/radio are squads too. I guess you mean infantry vs infantry, like it’s a glorified ww2 warrior simulator or something. Which it isn’t. You have no way of avoiding an mg or a good sniper/tank that you don’t know about, so that isn’t really an argument.
TTK in this game is not forgiving, it doesn’t do kind of thing that is done in BF, where you can still hide or disengage when attacked by literally anything in the game.

I can only warn you that you can get negative reactions from people who use artillery intensively without any restrictions. They will say that “artillery is nerfed enough” when in reality this class should be redesigned altogether, not nerfed. (Just like a mortar or flamethrower)

lolol I would score like 40 kills per ONE bomb run, sometimes. There was no hiding - tanks, inside buildings, etc - no hiding from nukes

OP has absolutely no idea how it used to be in April-May, when A20s and Ju188s would dive straight down to your spawn less than 10 seconds from match start scoring 20-30+ kills with a single run. And between a bomb run and the next one, you would fight in a battlefield where every player with a radio squad could call an arty strike every 45 seconds, potentially all at once, and both bombs and arty made way deadlier booms than now.

We were there. We used to fight there.

OP has no - idea - at all.

These days it’s a weekend picnic in comparison.

How Arty and bombs work has already been redesigned this year in a number ways. And they are now way less deadly than they once were.

Unless you were there in those days it cannot be described how deadly and effective those systems were in game. You had to be there in order to experience.

So for today it’s really just a matter of learning how to play and understanding that arty and HE bombs from planes and tanks are part of the experience. They can be avoided or mitigated by how you play the game where as before they could not be…

If you want an infantry only experience then maybe this game is not for you.

Artillery has been nerfed recently, so now it is bearable. Soon we will have smoke screens in all map, so not all artillery salvos will be HE.

Well my issue isn’t the damage of the artillery call, it’s the frequency. The amount times a team can use it is insane, because you got to put into considedation its not just one player using it. I would recommend each player only be able to use it once per squad. Also if there could be a bigger delay on the plane bombs explosion that would be top.

Was honestly really fun in a weird way, the craziness was just over the top
