what the hell happen to even teams? i have been on 7 teams today and many were 2 golds against 8 golds
High ranks don’t necessarily mean that the player is skilled. Rankings in this game only indicate if the player played multiple matches in one single season and don’t measure their skill level. I’ve had many good players in silver ranks and horrible and uncooperative players in gold level. Cooperation is what makes the most difference IMO.
Having marshal rank doesn’t correlate to skill or campaign level, because it’s crossed amongst campaigns.
For example, many people will get to higher ranks by farming kills as Tunisia Allies or Pacific Axis, since no one really plays as their opponents. That doesn’t require much other than basic skill.
Then, that same person could have marshal rank, but is just starting out in a new campaign. They’re not necessarily skilled nor high in the campaign tree.
However, our matches are currently very unbalanced because we have no matchmaking yet. So people are just being thrown wherever, and we’re consistently seeing new players being matched with high level players. I really hope the new update fixes this.
don’t see how br could possibly adjust the uneven amount of players per team or control high skill players from low skill players, especially with the quit culture being a player driven issue
especially if high br players can lower their br to play on low level
also sacrificing a cross of weapons is weird
will bots use the same gear or they going to be outfitted with br appropriate gear?
Bruh, the possibilities of having such player in a much is rather low, and much lower for several marshals to have the same situation at the same time.
So the situation you are talking is rare and can’t use to justify rank doesn’t matter in a normal match.
A player that play multiple match in a single season is more likely to be more skillful than those who play less match. Because if you practice more you will have better skill.
This may be the case for some players. But in most cases, gold rank player are still better than sliver rank players.
I don’t even know what you’re saying here.
The point was that you can’t use rank to determine if a player is skilled and/or has high level gear, which the original poster was concerned about.
You can if you are using it on calculating the power of the entire team, the situation you are talking about is less likely to happen. You can’t use some special case to say rank doesn’t matter. By using replay to see the OP last 7 match before posting this topic, he lost 6 out of the 7 matches. The result is there, OP lost most matches when he has a team with worse rank. What do you have other than some theory that is yet to be supported by data?
As already stated: ranks mean nothing. Play a meta faction for several weeks and you gain that rank in no time but it doesn’t mean that you are a highly efficient player or even skilled.
For uneven matches: All i can say is that we need to wait for the campaign merge
Don’t argue with people who are shilling. You’re 100% correct.
Maybe, maybe not. The best surefire way is to actually observe their gear and play style.
You can look at a team full of marshals and assume that most of them are high level players, that’s completely reasonable. But you have no way of telling if one of those marshals was just farming the best faction for wins, which doesn’t correlate to skill or high level gear.
Your theory isn’t supported by data either, you’re talking in absolutes, that you can always use rank to determine skill. Which you admitted yourself is not the case.
I see you couldn’t help yourself, but you just look stupid. We’re talking about ranks in relation to player level, so please, explain to me how that has anything to do with “shilling”.
Bruh, this topic is not talking about a skill of a certain player. We are talking about the skill of a team full of marshals .
I never said this bruh. I said more likely, that is not absolute LOL.
Not sure why you sound annoyed. There’s no reason to be.
My first response was saying that you cannot look at someone with a marshal rank and instantly deduce that they are a highly skilled, late game player. Im questioning if you knew what I was talking about to begin with.
Therefore, while you can reasonably assume that a team full of marshals is quite skilled, not all of them are going to be.
I beg to differ.
This is talking in absolutes my man. You said that my situation is less likely to happen. Unless I’m misunderstanding you, you’re saying that rank alone is a near-foolproof way to determine player skill.
A team full of marshals is likely to be highly skilled, but there’s no guarantee it will be. Arguing against that statement is taking in absolutes, because you’re not allowing for other situations to happen. Such as the somewhat unlikely possibility that most of those people just farmed the best campaign to get their rank, which doesn’t make them skilled by any stretch of the imagination.
But regardless, I don’t really feel like playing mental gymnastics right now.
OK GUYS, i see the back and forth going on and i just have to say that yes people do things that just boost them to higher rank. but my thoughts on it are that maybe 5 % are boosters. (as us older players call them) i am almost 60 years old and i know that there are ways to even the teams and have a better playing experience with the game. i just think that evening the teams would make the game better for the players. even if there are boosters playing in a match have a even amount of silver and golds would be a better way to have it in the long run. i am not a pro player by any means but i am ok at it and just want a more even playing field instead of getting run over. you would think that the owners of enlisted would want to make this a priority because i bet there are players leaving to another game that is more fair .
True, ranks aren’t equivalent with skill, like @AdRock2621 and @Tomahawk13FH pointed out.
But it’s a good indicator.
Therefore I lean towards @khtk395 opinion.
The more time you’ve invested in the game, the better you should be!
Look at all “Even Events” so far, where ppl actually get to play with the same equipment.
Gold ranks tops the scoreaboard in 99 % cases and teams with the highest ranks win the majority of the battles.
So yes, besides better equipment, player with higher ranks are usually better players.
But oc, not true all over the board, but in general.

Hmm, in this case your first respond is less related to the topic. OP is talking about a team full of marshals, not the skill of a certain marshal.
you’re saying that rank alone is a near-foolproof way to determine player skill.
I said you can use it if you are calculating/estimating the power of the entire team and this topic is about the power of the entire team, not the power of a specific player. You already said we can assume a team full of marshals is quite skilled. But we need to first assume that a player that has marshal rank is skilled in order to make such assumption.

I never said other situation won’t happen. I said they are less likely to happen.

Then we agree. Case closed.
The main point I was trying to make was that ranks are kinda gimmicky right now because of how easy it is to earn without actually playing the game and developing skill. Hopefully once we get real matchmaking it will be less of an issue, and rank will actually be a determiner of skill.

I think they always gonna be gimmicky anyway, cuz there will always be ways to manipulate your rank, choice of BR in the future etc.
Since we don’t will get a SBMM the ranks will just stay like this, an accessory or a carrot for ppl to grind.
Yeah that’s a good point actually
