I think theses gentleman just delivered it several decades late. Probably take just as long to get enough br 5 japanese equipment in game to make it worthwhile to use.

I mean at least for april fools event I could mess about and have fun, I liked to do my pacifist runs, where I would just spend the entire match running around in circles closing all the doors, it genuinely brought some level of amusement doing that, unlike this slog. Not to mention 12k per day with no unskipable days? Actual fucking trainwreck of an event.
Speaks volumes that the devs and CMās refused to address a single piece of criticism about the event. Let alone attempt to fix any of it.
I mean not to mention you could easily recreate that āeventā in the space of about 6 hours (being very very very generous and including maybe like a 5 hour teabreak) vs the 6 fucking months they took to produce it, I mean really ffs, what the fuck is going on behind those closed doors. Alas at least its over.
Now the real question, will we get one of @MajorMcDonalds 's Q&A type threads at some point, hopefully addressing this clusterfuck, not to mention, the real elephant in the room, have any lessons been learned from this event?
Skipped the event (or more like played only till bike to not pollute box content) and iām happy. No reward is worth grinding every single day without stopping. Tiger can wait (in silver box)

I also found a little amusement from april fools. I mostly played it so i could get 3 gambling boxes per day. I managed to pull ppk 42 from that event

Heavy Tank No.6 acquired.
Now to give my thoughts of the event overall; firstly the equipment used by both teams
Equipment and vehicles
Already thereās quite evidently some disparity between both Japan and the USSR in their equipment, particularly in the way of magazine capacity, in hand with reload speed. The main point of contention being the SVT vs the Type 4 rifle.
It can almost go without saying the SVT is objectively a much better semi auto rifle. Magazine reload as opposed to stripper clipĆĀ², what feels like more consistent recoil and dispersion compared to the type 4, plus arguably much nicer gun sights too.
In the context of the event, considering these were the standard infantry rifles itās obvious how much of an advantage this can be, I certainly noticed it.
Now the select fire rifles, the AVT-40 20 vs Type Hei Auto.
Itās a bit closer but thereās an argument to be made for the AVT just being more consistent damage wise especially over distance. Plus you donāt have the bolt in your face between shots interfering with the sight picture.
Personally this oneās close enough imo, plus I really like the Hei Auto and can use it without issue.
(What was strange tho was the federov rifle 25s being in the USSR loadouts without Japan having any counterpart at all. Definitely need to look into that.)
As for LMGs The DP27 vs KE7, edge probably goes to USSR here just because of magazine size really. More sustained fire is generally better, tho the KE7 is a pretty nice gun. It would be better if there was a 50 round mag variant, but that might be a bit much compared to the DP.
And smgs, I think the type 100 and the ppsh box is a really fair match up, this one was good!
in regards to the infantry guns the soviets mostly edge it out or just tie with Japan.
Now for vehicles, short and sweet USSR planes by an absolute mile not even close. And Tanks Japan since BR5 tank vs BR4 no surprise here.
It pains me because I adore the Japanese planes to bits, the Zero and Yak were very fair match up but god the bombers itās not even close, the B5N2 is a sad excuse for a plane in any match up.

Now despite what I listed in the equipment and vehicles, Japan players just have a true under dog spirit about them where they just seem to somehow fight harder, even when randomly assigned. Iād honestly say my games were about a 55-45 split, to Japan and USSR respectively.
I had stomps on both factions, had nail bitingly close games both sides and some with clutch wins and losses.
I think despite some equipment disparity with a properly designed map and campaign Japan and USSR could definitely have a place in the match making.
But, there still needs to be a lot more done for Japan in terms of fleshing out their equipment so that thereās less gaps especially if Japan and USSR are going to engage outside of BR 1-3.
No.1 priority should be giving Japan a magazine fed 10 round rifle of some variety in the tech tree. Something like a Type Hei Late Long 10 and or Type Hei Long 10/Type Otsu 10.
As for LMG Iād suggest something like a Type 11LMG 45/50 round hopper magazine. (? I canāt remember which one Iāve seen posted a handful of times but itās an extended hopper for tanks I think) .
Overall tho. The event was okay, maybe not the most exciting but I get it was a sort of testing ground thing. I had some fun, at points not so much. But mostly Iām grateful for some sort of event for Japan so thank you.
Iām very excited for what comes next for Japan

It is not priority.
As thereās no reason to play Japanese BR4 atm, you will always get uptiered to BR5.
(And mag fed semis doesnāt belong to BR3 as tech tree weapons, that should be reserved only for more limited weapon such as events/BPs/premiums)
Not to mention lack of squads - you canāt really have presets for all BRs once you have unlocked all 11 slots.
In contrary, western allies deserve tech tree BR4 semi. They have very interesting stuff in BR4, they can be dowtiered to BR3 while playing against Germany, and therefore the lack of tech tree BR4 semi is very noticeable
As for Japanese, BR5 AR and proper attacker planes across all BRs should be priority.

Correct, there isnāt much reason. So they could improve Japan and give it reason.
I was mostly talking about outside of BR3 in terms of semis.
Japan needs more BR5 stuff no doubt, definitely more attacker planes in general. But, thereās only one attacker plane up at any given moment. As opposed to a semi rifle thatād be standardised across BR 4 potentially across every squad in oneās BR4 lineup.
I know Iād personally quite enjoy a BR4 rifle for my lineup.
