European axis airpower rework and additions

German air is okay at most places, but it has some aspects where it should be better to better match similar aircraft.below are some suggestions for things to change and a few new things that can be added.not all of these are neccesary or would have major impacflt, but would be fun to see.

BF 109 F1 and 2 gets wing mounted RZ.65 rockets
At first glance this may seem way too powerful, but the rockets themselves are really weak (penning tanks isn’t really an option) and nowhere near the M8s power (and you get the same amount of them as on a P38).this would give a bit of anti infantry application via rockets, somewhat like the P38.

RZ.65_look

Ju 87 B2 → BR1
This version of the stuka is all of the worst traits of all the stukas combined, bad turn speed, double 7.92s that barely do anything, meh tail gunner, and the not as good bombload.

Fiat G.55 → BR3
It’s just flatout weaker then the P51d at a BR lower then it,who’s bombs are over double the size, and the guns aren’t amazing either to potentially justify this,a single 20mm and a few 12.7mms.the only reason why it’s here is because someone whined about it pre merge and DF caved in.

Fiat G.FF serie 1,BR4 fighter
essentially an improved sotterie 0 (the version in game) that replaces 2 of the 12.7mms for 20mms,other then that pretty similar.

BF 109 F/4 trop gets 15mm gunpods and 50kg bombs
If this thing is going to be kept BR3,then it should at least get bombs (keep in mind weaker then the P51Ds by over 2x still) and have an improved gun armament,as to better preform in air to air combat like other BR3 fighters.

BF 109 G6 gets 2 Wfr.Gr 21 rockets
When you have a plane such as the AP4 at BR4,it is necessary to have a viable counter to it.While this wouldn’t be a 100% equivilant, this would give the G6 a better ground armament and make the balance closer.

BF 109 G10 and 14 get a 250kg bomb
right now, these planes are kinda pointless, sure you can shoot down an enemy plane, but after that you have nothing to do except wait for another plane while precious time is being wasted or strafe the ground in a fickle effort to kill some infantry.this will allow these planes to have a ground armament, like every other high BR plane.

Re.2005 serie 0,BR5 fighter
this would be an alternative to the BF109 K4,as it has a better dogfighting armament (in the sense of ammo capacity anyways) by having the same armament of the earlier mentioned G.55 serie 1 with a similar bomb load of a 250kg bomb but 2 extra 100kg bombs (this can be justified because other BR5 fighters have dual 250kg bombs, this is about as close as this can can get to that)

Do 335 B-2,BR5 bomber
it’s no secret that the FWs aren’t good, and that especially is true with the D12 (an overhyped Ju 87 D5 with limited 30mm ammo, much less 20mm ammo, and overall terrible handling). This would be more for when the western allies get the super pershing;my logic is if they get a counter to the KT,then Germany should get a counter to the P47,which this would do well.the plane is equipped with high penetration 30mm cannons that would be good for tank hunting, and a 500kg and 2x 250kg bombs (the same 500kg on the JU87 R2).what it lacks in pure anti infantry power (nothing really can stand up to a wall of HVARS),it makes up for in anti tank power.

overall performance of FW series
these planes are…not great,to say the least.they roll like crazy, turn like an aircraft carrier (even the fighter versions),the armaments aren’t amazing even at the low BR ones due to the sheer horrible turn speed limiting the effectiveness, stalling really easily, and for the few that get ground attack armament aren’t very great for the BR either.I propose to bring down all FW variants by 1 BR,as to reflect the abhorrent flight performance of the aircraft series as a whole.maybe if they can fix the bad rolling and decrease the turn speeds, they would be fine, but as it stands they are not.the aircraft affected would include the:FW 190 a1,a4,a8,d9,d12)

The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil (Arrow) is a heavy fighter built by Dornier for Germany during World War II. The Pfeil 's performance was predicted to be better than other twin-engine designs due to its unusual push-pull configuration and the lower aerodynamic drag of the in-line alignment of the two engines. It was Nazi Germany’s fastest piston-engined aircraft of World War II.[2][page needed] The Luftwaffe was desperate to get the design into operational use, but delays in engine deliveries meant that only a handful were delivered before the war ended.

P 256

[edit]

The P 256 was to meet a Luftwaffe requirement issued 27 February 1945. It was designed to carry a crew of three (pilot, radar operator, and navigator), with pilot and radar operator together under the canopy, while the navigator was in the fuselage, an idea copied from Arado. Departing from centerline thrust, it was to have two Heinkel HeS 011 engines of 12.7 kN (2,900 lbf) each, podded under the wings in the fashion of the Me 262. The low-mounted wing was unswept, and had an aspect ratio of 5.8:1.[14] Designed armament was four 30 mm (1.2 in) MK 108 cannon in the nose.[14] A field conversion kit was to retrofit two MK 108s in a Schräge Musik configuration.[14] A fighter-bomber variant would have carried two 500 kg (1,100 lb) bombs. Its loaded weight would have included 3,750 kg (8,270 lb) of fuel, giving a wing loading of 276 kg/m2 (57 lb/sq ft). Maximum speed was achieved at 8,000 m (26,000 ft), maximum range at 6,000 m (20,000 ft). Endurance with 4,000 kg (8,800 lb) fuel was calculated as 2.6 hours.[14] Its electronics would have included FuG 24SE with ZVG 24, FuG 29, FuG 25a or c, and FuG 244 Bremen with Gnome weapon triggers.[14] Criticized for having poor cross-sectional area and unduly large tail surfaces, it was not adopted.[14]

In May 1942, Dornier submitted an updated version with a 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) bomb load as the P.231 , in response to a requirement for a single seat, Schnellbomber -like high-speed bomber/intruder. The

Dornier finished building as many as 48 Do 335 airplanes and another nine or so were under construction when the war ended. One of many plans issued by the RLM called for Dornier to build 310 Do 335s by late 1945. Although combat conversion units received several pre-production aircraft about 10 months before the war ended, no pilots flew Do 335s in combat. Only one example of the first production version Do 335A-1 rolled off the Dornier assembly line at Friedrichshafen just before the war ended. One 30 mm MK-103 cannon (70 rounds were carried) firing through the propeller hub and two 15 mm MG-151/15 cannon (200 rounds per gun) firing from the top cowling of the forward engine armed this model, and an internal bomb load of 500 kg (1,100 lb) could be carried.
