Erma EMP 44 vs Kiraly

I have been using the Kiraly for my level five Ju-188 crew, but always thought the gun had to much vertical recoil, so, I bought four of the Erma EMP’s from BP and decided to give the four to my Ju-188 crew. This was my initial test between the two smg’s, from the same distance, standing doing the spray and pray method. The Kiraly results are on the left, the EMP on the right and I think the three stay shots at the top left corner of the EMP’s target are from the Kiraly. :joy: So, at least for now, I like the Erma. Disregard the white target, that was just a quick shoot from the hip with the Erma from where I was standing. Take into account also that these are maxed out pilots and don’t have the gun perk for lowering the horizontal or vertical shots.

I made a topic about the Kiraly almost a year ago, but its still yet to be corrected.
For some reason the game treats it an Axis Ppsh41 but it really isnt. Kiraly SMGs had the best accuracy and range out of all SMGs during the war, its fire rate is lower than in the game and it utilizes delayed blow back action that makes recoil much more controlable, none of these are represented in the game.

I love the erma 44 tbh i use them as backup for my partisan squad and if i didnt have mp717 i would definitely use them as my main gun. Too bad i can only buy 4 tbh i really need a 5th one

I like the Kiraly, but DF needs to lower the recoil. Granted, my test was with pilots and with an assaulter I can adjust the perks to get better performance, but in my unscientific test I thought it shot poorly compared to the Erma. When I use the Kiraly, I have to use it in short controlled bursts to be effective. My Ju-188 pilots were the ONLY soldiers who I had using the Kiraly as my assaulters in level five all carry StG 44’s

I prefer the suppressed Erma EMP it’s one of my favorite weapons. It is so stable and gives the enemy a good shellacking

I’ve got all the Erma’s in the game I believe, unless some were offered in the early days I don’t have. The Erma level two squad, the suppressed smg’s and the level four Erma 44’s and like them all.

Love the uniforms of this squad but I wouldn’t buy it as I don’t think it has that many advantages over the premium mp18 squad for half the price.

Same, when I used to play on the Stalingrad campaign and only had access to the awful mp28, the erma carried me through the lower levels.

for some reason popular Axis SMGs on BR2 are limited to 500 rpm even though Mp40 and Mp38 had 500-550 rpm, M1 beretta had 550 rpm. Meanwhile pps-42, Lanchester and Type2a all fire the ideal fire rate for BR2 of 600 rpm.

MP40 and M1 Beretta both should really get 550 rpm.

If we are being honest, they don’t even have the PPSh drum correct either.

what does this mean? and why does it do recoil much more controlable?

I have the Premium MP18 squad as well, but don’t use the MP18 as I am not a big fan of the gun. Personally, I think it should have been a level one squad as I like the level one smg’s far more then the MP18. That being said, all of my level two squads are superior to the MP18 squad, so to keep it from being a useless squad collecting dust, I bought BP KP-26’s and changed the squad from ammo pouch to carrying a secondary weapon and use it in level three. I never have to use the MP18 as the vast majority of time my squad members die long before running out of KP-26 ammo. :joy: I don’t play level three Germans much anyway, but at least I found a place for the squad. If DF did the right thing, they would let people buy squads with fully changeable weapons loadouts, this way we can put them anywhere we need them. I love my level two German squad lineup, but would love to add a decent smg squad to my level one, and if I could shit can the MP18, I would give them MP34’s and use them in level one, while taking my TT assault squad from level one and moving them to level three. But, DF takes our money and doesn’t give us those options.

“Lever-delayed blowback utilizes leverage to put the bolt at a mechanical disadvantage, delaying the opening of the breech. When the cartridge pushes against the bolt face, the lever moves the bolt carrier rearward at an accelerated rate relative to the light bolt. Leverage can be applied with a dedicated part or through inclined surfaces interacting with each other. This leverage significantly increases resistance and slows the movement of the lightweight bolt. The reliable functioning of lever-delayed blowback arms is limited by specific ammunition and arm parameters like bullet weight, propellant charge, barrel length and amount of wear.” [Wikipedia]

Now, Im not an expert on this either, but in layman’s terms it means that the moment the gun fires its bolt does not kick back immediately making the action smoother and more comfortable to control.

No, it doesn’t. I thought you meant something like AN 94. I haven’t read anything good about this submachine gun. On the contrary, they noted poor accuracy. In addition, the bullets weren’t the strong point of this weapon either. The difference with the MP-40 was minimal, and the Kiraly is a big, no, HUGE, heavy submachine gun.

source?
I can prove how accurate the SMG is with documents and videos how little recoil it actually has.

That’s brilliant, I just did the same thing and found a place for this squad at my BRIII lineup with the 4x Suomi’s I got.

The MP18 is good at short ranges and switching to the Suomi is quite good at medium to longish ranges. Since they have different magazine sizes they draw from different ammo pools so you end up having lots of ammo switching between the two.

Also, if you add a gold order AT or Engineer to the lineup you get an extra 20% XP boost on top of the boost from the premium squad.

I did not know that

Kiraly has great DPS - but with very very high recoil.

also, Kiraly has very good fast reload speed, so if you manage to control that SMG you can be overall more effective than using a ppsh, but its really not easy to do.

if Kiraly had a normal reload speed comparable to most guns, it could move to BR4, however I would prefer if Kiraly would get its rate of fire drastically reduced instead - it had a lower rate of fire in reality and should be a long range SMG for BR3, “okay” DPS in close range, but Thompson like damage drop.

what could be done to fill this high rate of fire SMG gap - increase FNAB rate of fire drastically, most videos of people actually shooting that gun, clearly show something around 800 RPM.

I’m afraid it’s in Russian. The USSR tested captured Kiralys and were not impressed. They criticized the accuracy of fire. They only liked the device of the semi-free breech, which would later be used by Korobov, as well as the good reliability of the weapon.

Regarding your documents. Do you really believe that an 8 gram bullet flies 600 meters? Even for a 7.62x54 cartridge, this is a serious distance. And we are talking about a 9x25 pistol cartridge. The energy of the bullet is not much greater than the energy of a TT bullet fired from a PPSh. Does the PPSh shoot at 600 meters? A rhetorical question.

They simply installed a sight with markings up to 600 meters on the Kiraly.

They installed the same one on the PPSh, but up to 500 meters.

And what kind of video did you want to show me?

That is fine, I will use my translator. I need this for research.
