I would like to suggest a system that allows players to have more freedom and have an easier time grinding squads, which will lead to better game experience.
The few features of this system are the following:
1.The weapon(or vehicle) upgrade and soldier class upgrade from the upgrade system in each squad is removed. Three new upgrade sections(weapon, vehicle, soldier class) are made to cover this.
2.Squad points are removed and leveling up a squad is done with the combined experience of the squads, not just experience from the squad.
3.Soldiers can be upgraded to have higher tiers via silver troop orders.
The new system’s upgrade section consists of four parts: weapons, vehicles, soldier class, and squads. By the way, the soldier perk system is left unchanged. Let’s start with the weapon upgrade.
One of the most frustrating things about Enlisted is that sometimes you have to play squads you are not interested in to be able to upgrade the weapons you like.
The weapon upgrade section is divided into several tech trees: rifles, assault weapons, light machine guns, flamethrowers, mortars, AT weapons, and pistols. It would be even better if sidegrades go into the branches of each tech tree.
Showing all the weapon’s upgrades at the same time will make the tech tree very cramped and complicated. So I borrowed an idea from War Thunder. In War Thunder tech tree, the background gets blurry when you click on a vehicle with a sidegrade.
At first the tech tree will only show the weapons. When you click on a weapon to see the upgrades, the background will go blurry, making it easy to look at the upgrades.
At level 1, one bolt-action rifle and one smg are unlocked, The rest can be acquired using experience.
By the way, I didn’t give much thought about the equipment(bags, grenades, and mines) section. As there are no campaign levels, I think unlocking them by achieving a certain number of kills is fine.
The same principles are applied to the vehicle tech tree, which consists of tanks, fighters and attackers. At level 1, one tank is unlocked. The rest must be acquired using experience.
Some of you might be wondering, ‘wait, there is no mention of the tier system?’ ’ Don’t worry, I will explain about the soldier class upgrade section next.
The third part is the soldier class. At level 1, rifleman, engineer, and assaulter are unlocked. The rest can be unlocked via experience. Each upgrade is similar to what we have seen. However, the difference is that the upgrades for different tier troops of the same class are connected. For example, you can upgrade your assaulter 2s after going through the assaulter 1 upgrades(ofc you can skip pistol and bag/addition weapon upgrade).
And there is something in between. A ‘tier upgrade’ slot and ‘increase in maximum number of assaulter squads’ slot.’ The first one allows the upgrade of tier 1 assaulters to be upgraded using silver troop orders. The cost of tier upgrade depends on the level and tier of the soldier.
The players can choose how to upgrade their soldiers. Either they can upgrade their low tier soldiers to level 5 and upgrading their tier(relatively few bronze orders and many silver orders used)
or upgrade their low level soldiers to higher tier and upgrading their level(many bronze orders and relatively few silver orders used). And of course, the amount of bronze troop orders needed to upgrade higher tier troops must be reduced.
As tier upgrade is possible, only tier 1 troops are available at the logistics.
If you want to use another assaulter squad, you can research the ‘increase in maximum number of assaulter squads’ slot and get a new assaulter squad, which is identical to the one you were using except its name.
The fourth and the last part is the squad upgrade. As the soldier upgrade and weapon upgrade are made into separate sections, only the blue part from the original system is left. Only the squads you unlocked are shown.
Thank you for reading this long post. If you have suggestions or questions, feel free to leave a comment.
