It seems to me that there is enough communication between the development team and the users on that issue. The developers seem to be going in two or three different directions, but I think that’s just because they’re still not sure what they want to do with the game.
At least they are trying to move forward in a way that makes sense to the user.
Seriously, I don’t think bad feedback has been removed from this forum. There are so many posts that are critical of the game (otherwise there wouldn’t be a suggestion thread) and fair enough in that respect.
Any posts that are abusive, insulting, sexually explicit or otherwise banned by the rules will be removed by the moderators. I once posted a picture of Rachel Weisz, who played a hot female Soviet soldier in the movie Enemy at the Gate, with the sexy ass she showed in the same movie and it was deleted, which I think was extremely fair.
There are already places on Reddit and elsewhere where people can talk about Enlisted, so arbitrary censorship here is pointless in the first place, and has not been done.
I think Enlisted is a great concept, but it’s not yet in the realm of big indie games. And the nice thing about Indie games is that they have a small user community and there is active communication between the developers and the community. I play a lot of games from smaller studios, and the proximity between Enlisted developers and users on this forum is phenomenal.
If this were a AAA title like Battlefield or CoD, this kind of response would not be possible. The bigger the user community, the more unhelpful opinions and noise there will be.
Anyway, now developers can be close to the user community. At least during the beta. I think they fully understand the position Enlisted is in right now and are working hard to make this game better.
You will never know what will Gaijin as a publisher going to ask Darkflow what to do considering on how they treat their own game War Thunder. Even Darkflow already has a questionable way of balancing stuff like messing around ticket bleeds, ticket bonus and cap times based on player stats without minding that a certain faction is more popular and more new or bad players play that specific faction more.
Even the way they want to merge campaigns to address the split on the playerbase only to split them again through the BR system is something I’m not optimistic of like veterans could just have stocks of fully upgraded Kar98ks to club new players. I might stock my own Mosins too and had some PPD-40s with no clear indication how is this going to work like how will they treat SMGs like PPSh and MP40 that appeared all war and how they should be different to assault rifles or automatic rifles like STG, M2 and Fedorov.
A Steam release of Enlisted would be more convenient its just get ready to get negative reviews on bad mechanics or if some bad decision by Darkflow or Gaijin in the future even if Steam could attract more players especially with the collapse of Heroes and Generals.
This game is broken. And we are in a state of emergency right now.
As you know, the Darkflow plan is completely out of whack because they added countless campaigns and then suddenly this year they are consolidating campaigns due to lack of players.
If I were to compare what is happening now to a house, they are desperately duct taping a broken water pipe and waiting for the contractors to bury a new water pipe while trying to keep the house from flooding.
The coping strategies that DF is doing now are not smart. Yet it is the best they can do in the current situation.
I think there are a lot of details about the new game system that they don’t know and can’t promise yet. All I can do is wait for devblog.
But they are giving us their policy on things that users have requested, even if it is a small release of information. I think they are communicating well with their users.
They won’t make it on steam cuz they know how bad their game is. It will get a lot of negative feedback plus people will be able to see the activity of the game.
