I like this game more than HLL. Because I can just get on play a match or two and be done within an hour. HLL (to get the full experience) you need a good squad with good comms and most games last over an hour. So no leaving in the middle
Didn’t say they were the same. In fact, I said they weren’t the same and didn’t need to be to compete with one another. They compete because they draw from the same crowd, it’s as simple as that.
Idk what you want man, both games very specifically mention historical accuracy and attention to detail as selling points. Whether or not they do that is up for debate, but it’s still a selling point for both titles.
which isn’t relevant to what I said in the first place? What is even your point with this? Why even bring it up lmfao
I see your point but again WW2 and Shooter is not enough because there are tons of games which could technically count as market competitor. It would make sense in case the people are fleeing either from Enlisted or HLL like it used to be in HnG which is not really the case. Also, I guess the Russian majority here are too greedy to pay 30-40 shekels for a game (while playing a freemium game but logic I guess).
Since when is the StG in Moscow winter 1941/42 historical accurate? Or the Jumbo, Chaffee, M2, FG, A13, Daimler, BA, Panzer IIIB, T-50, AVS in Berlin, Scoped AVS, ZH-29… not including the skins/ uniforms.
It’s not historically accurate, cause the devs promote/ say it. Otherwise,… where is the shotgun class and the IS-2? They promote both on their website, yet both are not ingame. What happened to the promotion of the classes/ why can all rifle classes equip automatic battle rifles, though the advertisement says something else?
In first because your exmpale of
doesnt make sense in context of HLL vs. Enlisted. Tanks are feature, while movement etc. is core aspect of fps (inf) gameplay… and because CoD has tanks in some of their latest (and sucessfull) games, which would make them “equal” in this point. Would say ttk is a better way to measure similarities.
There ARE tons of games that would count as a market competitors. Enlisted is a FPS, it’s the most crowded genre in games.
did you even read what I said? At no point did I claim it’s historically accurate, i’m saying that both games specifically tout historical accuracy and realism as a selling point, while a game like CoD Vanguard does not. Doesn’t matter if they hold up to it, the point is that they claim that as a central part of their game and thus people who are interested in WW2 games focusing on historical accuracy are going to be drawn to both which creates competition.
The whole point of that sentence youre quoting is that it doesnt make sense to make that comparison, just like it doesn’t make sense to say HLL and Enlisted aren’t competitors because HLL is slightly more tactical. Battlefield is focused on large scale, combined arms combat and Call of Duty focuses on small scale infantry skirmishes. Even though their gameplay is very different, they still compete with each other because that draw from the same pool of people. That’s literally all competition is.
Enlisted has no focus on “historical(ish) accuracy” at all - it is a fantasy run-and-gun arcade game. Any resemblance to WW2 is incidental and a marketing strategy only.
HLL certainly had its problems, but it is seriously more based in something “historical(ish)”
Yes - agree with this completely - did a couple of hundred hours of HLL before Xmas, but it is more intense and time consuming and I need to be in a particular frame of mind to play it.
I love HLL and Enlisted both. If I want more challenge and want an exciting hardcore game play, I’d play the former. The latter is more casual, which is good if you wanna relax and play a shorter game session (except Seelow train escort).
The only thing that matter for me is that they’re better than Heroes and Generals. Glad I left this shitty game on life support.
Up to this day, I still struggle to find an ideal successor of Red Orchestra 2. Had a few attempts where I tried Squad but ended up swapping it with Insurgency as it didn’t run well on my PC at the time. Sure had Rising Storm 2 but the feeling wasn’t the same because its Vietnam not WWII like RO2.
It’s like finding the right flavor of coffee that its not too extreme like not too bitter and not too sweet when it comes to finding the right amount of realism in FPS games like RO2 offered. Enlisted is one of the FPS games I play today post-burnout on the entire FPS genre that I had in late 2016 where was in hiatus in the genre for around 3 years where the next military FPS game I bought after that was Rising Storm 2.
Had checked some HLL on youtube and well hard for me to say about very slow paced games as not a huge fan of walking simulators but Stalingrad looks nice.
It’s not quite so much of a walking simulator as people say
Get on a truck at the beginning, and if your SL has any good sense then you’ll have spwns plenty close to the action without bother - even when losing.
It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to Red Orchestra 2
Actually, I played rs2 a lot more than that.
It was a game where you could feel the nostalgia of bf:vietnam.
Although it was difficult,
there was a unique feeling
It was was not bored because the fights were quite frequent.
I suddenly thought of rs2 carbine
I hope the Enlisted developers refer to the m2 carbine sight of rs2.
enlisted m2 carbine has sight issue
I also watched Hll’s Stalingrad video
I thought about buying it because it was so attractive, I gave up because there were cheat users in Asian server and walking simulators there.
Also, the only fps game I am currently playing is the enlisted. It’s a bit tiring right now
Like when berlin appeared, I believe stalingrad map will surprise us once again.
Storming Saigon City itself in Rising Storm 2 reminds me of Berlin campaign but its much more demanding on teamwork for North Vietnam teams where they have to be really competent for the epic battle experience there when they manage to push through the Presidential Palace. I pick Squad Leader alot and did main North there so I was able to use my tunnel building experience on rally points in Enlisted.
One of the things I missed about Red Orchestra 2 is the map variety where we get both summer and winter maps in Stalingrad making the atmosphere experience more unique. I really hope Enlisted if they ever add Stalingrad should capture this too with summer and winter maps with different uniforms.
Tbf, Asian servers are not the place to find teamwork with some players are the absolute worst there which is why its better to be in NA server despite ping issues but atleast language barrier wasn’t as bad as Asian servers.
Presidential Palace!
I remembered the pleasant experiences on that map.
I remember that it was very difficult to attack from the entrance to the presidential palace.
After entering the presidential palace, the moment I entered the building, ARVN and NVA were busy throwing grenades, so there were always severed limbs scattered on the floor.
It was a mess, but it was a very fun experience nonetheless.
I also wish that the DEV made a separate summer/winter uniform, but I’m worried. Maybe it won’t apply easily even if the Stalingrad campaign comes out.
cuz see the MOSCOW campaign,
Despite being the oldest campaign in the game
a separate uniform is not applied depending on the map.
although The arboretum or quarry map feels like autumn
AXIS and ALLIES are both wearing winter camouflage
Snipers can be caught quickly
Of course, if the customizing system is introduced soon, there is no need to worry.
I’ve been playing HnG since 2014 but in 2021 Enlisted caught my attention. It was very similar to the game I played - but better.
Using my bots rather than those created for each side depending on the lack of players. A more complex firing mechanism, which partially protects the game from cheaters and macros. Deeper equipment system. The presence of a huge number of detailed maps. No long pauses and constant action on the front line. A variety of weapons, as well as samples that I have never seen in a WW2 game. Weapon leveling system, a more complex RPG soldier skill system.
Finally, graphics and optimization (for those who don’t know, HnG was made on a browser engine back in 2012 and had serious performance issues). There was no reason NOT to GO to Enlisted, this game buried the Danish product in all directions, and the speed of updates was pleasing to the eye, that even thousands of rubles spent on cool soldiers in HnG could not tear me away from the prospect of finally playing a modern shooter about WW2 , which has everything I loved HnG for - but better.
