Enlisted is unbalanced ( Since launch)

How do you want the game to work if there is no balancing by player level? It’s always been like this since launch, 1 team full of veterans against another team with some veterans and noob players. When there are events, this is 3x worse, as one side will only have bots and the other will be full of veterans to finish the event as quickly as possible.

biased zoomer marshall v lt and pvts yeah ya ganes balanced with hackers I which can fire thru tanks with rifles - concrete walls and through smoke - a never reloads or misses – do explain zoomer – tell us how we can get 181 kills 2 looses and kill tanks firing through buildings lol
how does the AI on my squad loose men their not even in battle or anywhere near a battle – not going to bother with a bug report cos every time the devs deny and lie - and say its not a hack or bug that no one cheats lol haha

but the balance wont be fixed -they rely on weapons not rank - ie the BR is on weapons hence you cant balance it -was rusisan v germany so br 2 tanks v german panthers - not sure what t lvl a panther is but the tank cant penn its armour side or rear tried pointless - and a mine didn’t even stop it
so once we have players getting stomppee - now it boring co all u do is loose battles to clans and aimbot hackers —

they dont care trava

i do agree but imo it would be complicated because I am a first sergeant but that took over 2 years to get/ my internets sucks so my performance is very inconstant, so yes i agree but imo it would be hard to gauge. (also take this with a grain of salt because ik nothing about game design)

Ranks (partially) reset each battlepass. As long as you get at least 1 battle award you will not decrease with a loss. The current rank system just isn’t a good system to base any sort of matchmaking on, though I do understand the optics that it gives, but in reality, it’s as effective as basing it off COD rank / prestige ranks.

I generally don’t like SBMM / RBMM as it ruins the game the second you pair up with other players of varying rank / skill. They also tend to make games sweaty as hell constantly.

That being said, I get several reasons why there is a desire for it:
1: Competitive Players really enjoy the competition
2: Lower end of the skill spectrum can get away from getting pub smashed constantly
3: Some players don’t have unlocks to compete with min-maxed players and it can feel bad to play uphill (though some people do enjoy the uphill battle)

Implementing a proper matchmaking system has a few barriers with Enlisted:

  • 1: Player base size: Due to the smaller size, there are already times of the day that you may not even get a 10 v 10 match, where bots get added. This means that any implementation could mean higher wait times or even more empty lobbies (which was why we had the merge to help with, which it did). This can’t easily be solved, as there is no guarantee on player-base growth with any change in the FPS genre.
  • 2: Separate Tech Trees and Ability to Select Which Side to Play: This is a big one. The ability to select which side means that the game has less ability to balance the match if more players are playing one side. With having separate tech trees for the faction, you can’t simply make it so that you must play other factions, as you may not want to use the weapons on that side or not have any unlocks if you solely play a faction.
  • 3: Event / New Tech Hype: People enjoy using new things. Due to how events typically only give 1 - 2 factions a reward, this will move the player-base balance over time, influencing the imbalance of sides.

The best solution would be to work toward limiting the player-base imbalance. To deal with this, I would do a few things:

  • 1: Research Points would become 1 for all factions, this would allow you to unlock things in another faction by playing another faction (removing the need to play a faction)
  • 2: Events would need to have a reward for ALL 4 Factions, and not time gate them where you get a specific one first, second, third, and fourth. Using an Event Token that you could claim the one you want first would alleviate a lot here.
  • 3: Tech tree improvements. This will take some time, as the Japan tree is simply not as full as others. But ASAP, when new things are added, they need to be balanced between factions in terms of draw.
  • 4: Introduce rewards for playing underplayed factions. Things like bonus XP would be an idea.
  • 5: Introduce a standing Even Fight event that would balance based on known stats of players. You would not be able to choose side, and you would not be able to bring your own squad (Even Fight actually has preset squads you use). This would act as a pseudo “ranked/competitive” game-mode.

Yes, it is difficult to balance the game. But we spend money on this game and they earn from it. If they want this game to stay alive, they need to worry about this urgently, as it is a big problem that makes new players leave.

I agree with everything you said, great points. But unfortunately we both know that the devs won’t balance the game. I don’t know how long it will take for this game to start dying, but one of the reasons will be the lack of balance.

I played last night, and being the only Marshall on my team, and the next highest was a lieutenant against a team with 5 Marshall’s and a couple Brigadier Generals. I bet you can guess how that match went. I wish it would show you the team rank layout before the match starts and give you a chance to bail, but you can usually tell in the first minute if it is going to be competitive or another ass kicking. I would say 80% of the matches I end up in are ass kickings, one way or another. . The lack of competitive games will be the death nail for the game, and we can see it taking place now as more and more bots are filling the ranks I believe. I did however play one game yesterday, Germans vs Allies and the first several objectives the Allies rolled and I thought this was going to yet another ass kicking, but when it got to blowing up the very last objective, the Germans pulled it out. I literally defused the bomb with the soldier count at zero. So, you never know. I am glad to see the Allies are starting to put up a fight again, but they never do when I pick them.

Define “ego-shooter”? You mean a fps game where one actually needs to aim or…?

I wouldn’t say they wont. They made baby steps with the BR system. It just isnt enough in its current form. They’ve made some adjustments to equipment as well. That shows they will, but very conservatively.

This means that drastic changes are unlikely, but incremental changes are possible. (and I am absolutely guilty of suggesting drastic changes).

It appears that DF is not going to solve this anomaly.
The only course of action a veteran should take is to simply join the weaker faction and fight. I just now managed to win a full stack against 4 marshals with just my underlings and myself.
Our brave underlings pushed us back and the enemy did not run away. All they could do was shoot like cowards with their tanks and PAKs from a kilometer away. It was great fun.

I’m a text-book newbie, as I’ve only been playing the game for 16 days. My first few days, I was just trying to learn how to play the game, then learn the research trees, and then a few more days in, I learned how to better equip my troops (and BOY does that get expensive). I’m no idiot, but it probably took me a dozen matches before I even realized how to deploy a relay point, and another twenty before I could tell what/how to deploy a mobile relay point.

This game has a MASSIVE learning curve. Having said that, it can still be hugely enjoyable even for a newbie with minimal instruction. (I was getting badges, even though I was clueless, within a few games of starting.)

But, after the first dozen or so games, I already started noticing the “bottom feeding” that goes on in this game, particularly with the Germans. Since I put money up pretty quickly to buy some neat German stuff, and not realizing how to actually get RID of such stuff to queue with lower tier Germans, I basically exclusively play Germans in a high tier, and have since played the other factions in low tier.

And boy was I surprised at how many “gold rank” Germans play against the “silver rank” other factions, but particularly against the Americans. I’ve seen 5 “gold ranked” Germans against teams with 1-2 on the other side. A few have 8 or more of the players just pummeling the heck out of the other side.

It’s to the point now, that when I play the lower tier factions against the Germans, if there’s more “gold ranks” on the opposing side, that’s the rare exception to the rule.

I honestly don’t see how that’s fun for anyone, but then again, I don’t know why people do a lot of things.

So, yes, the game is imbalanced. It’s still fun, and yes, it’s still possible to beat the other team, despite their better weapons and probably skills, but the Devs really should look into fixing it.

I’m posting this, btw, just to report the issue. I’ve got a job, so putting a few hundred (okay, five hundred) into a game wasn’t a huge deal to me, and it’s helped me even the odds at low tiers. But, I do worry about other newbies who are paying, perhaps for a premium unit or two and for a premium account (say, $100 into the game) and then quit in disgust if they happen to choose a faction that isn’t low-tier German.

If you couldn’t PvE grind the rank AND your rank going up meant you get better opponents…most people would quickly find themselves no longer ranking up at all, as the awards you generally get are kind of (somewhat) based on performance… and mediocre players simply would not be able to reliably score to not get stuck

Personally I’d just get rid of faction and BR selection entirely (make a lineup for each BR of each faction) and just have ranked and chill modes
You just queue and play whatever. All xp is global, so you unlock whatever you want

I try to do that. Problem is, the matchmaker is so unbearably dumb it doesn’t even work. It literally seems to just fill team A first, even if team B will literally be empty, and people shoved into team A were queing for both… So many times I’m eligible for both sides and end up as the 10th marshall vs privates and bots. It’s a joke

I wouldn’t be excited about playing where the game decides your destination since I only have only every played with the Germans or the Allies, so if the Devs decided to make the game choose the side for you, those should be the only options I would have as I don’t have squads built with the Japanese or Russians, so they are sitting with their basic starter weapons totally untouched. My German and Allied squads are fully maxxed at all the BR levels. But if it makes both squads even I really could care less whether I played as a German or an Allie. I don’t know what the answer is, but I think they should just let BR1-2 play against each other, BR 3-4 and BR4-5. That way if you have BR 4 weapons then you could get paired up in either a BR 3-4 or BR 4-5 match. But every game has a time limit as people will lose interest so hopefully we can keep enough people interested to get another couple years out of this game. At least long enough to get my invested money’s worth.

I have been playing all the faction BR 5 and the games are very balanced. So balanced to the point you have to be extra careful where you leave your RP. Overall, since the start of the event i feel more humans are playing
