The mire it tries to be COD etc. The worse it gets… people who play cod will play that… and those games do a better job across the board. So those who want cod wont play and theyll have driven away those who want ww2 bur dontnor cant play HLL…
Ive bwen playjng a lot less as its lost its way… jt can still be fun but that ends up deing despite the game… not because of it…
This game is a great blend of arcade and hardcore. And there is nothing wrong with the AS-44 because it was a WW2 prototype near the end of the war. This game has such a huge variety of content from the famous and mass produced to rare, prototype, and experimental.
This game may not be Red Orchestra 2 or Hell Let Loose but its not COD or Battlefield either its just that some people treat this as War Thunder with infantry.
Ok. I get your point over all. But your interpretation of historical accuracy is a bit odd…
SU-100 had no machine gun.
Majority of the Wehrmacht used the K98 or K98k, never the Gewehr 43. (Was used by the alpine hunter divisions).
The IS had a high reload time (how the hell you want to reload quicky that kind of ammunition into the breech.)
My point is that game should use historical weapons and vehicles, which LOOKS authentic (M1 Garand holds 8 rounds while Gewehr 43 - 10), but - the details MIGHT be altered / hidden to balance the gameplay.
By “details” I mean - damage, reload time, effective range.
For example - increasing base damage of PPSh-41 from 5.5 to 6.5.
95 % of players never saw that gun in real life and will not notice this. But - they will see that PPSh-41 is unlocked at the end of the campaign (level 26 in Berlin) so for them it looks normal that it should be better than weapon available at the start (PPS-42) - even if it has similiar mechanism and uses the same ammo.
Unrealistic ? But for me it still looks way better than a whole squads equipped with an AS-44 / RD-44.
Same with the vehicles - they should LOOK authentic, but again - some parameters might be altered (speed / reload time / quality of armor / penetration) if it is justified due to the balance.
LOL ! love it so true, I grow mine and relish the challenge of play. Considering I am not good its always a challenge. I will say since I started my skill has increased more than I thought it would. I wish more people just accept its a game and made to enjoy.
Frankly as a man who uses alot of tanks I think the new repair system and the addition of spalling are very welcome. Yes tanks must play more carefully but that brings them more into the role they are supposed to play. You are not supposed to simply roll up on the point and own the whole thing. Now tank players are rewared for playing correctly with cover and concealment. Futher I do not see why a lack of pings would be drastically hindering your play in a tank. Between binos and keeping tabs for the flow of battle it all in all easy enough to find there enemy and smack the crap out of them.
