Enginner Guide and in depth stats

Introduction:

hello!
today, with this post, i wanna give some tips for the newer people that don’t know how to build or make some good positions. and help them by giving them an initial idea of what an enginner can do in enlisted. but before, it’s important to know a bit of basics

When talking about enginner, we are talking about an important soldier that has an unique role, such as building defencive structures, build powerfull weapons to deal against infantry, tanks and airplanes. most of the time, well played enginners that can change the outcomes of a battle.

Know Your Tools!

As a enginner, your best friend is gonna be your hammer.
once you equipped the hammer, you will be able to construct anything that you want by pressing Right Click, and select the wanted building.
it will appear this menu where there will be displayed:

as you can see, the menu will tell you:

  • The name it’s the name of the constructable object,
  • how many resourches this object will require to be constructed,
  • and how many resourches/construction point, have left at his disposal.
because, each enginner has 20 Construct point and cannot be refilled.
if you want to construct more, you will have to switch enginner.

Let’s have a look at what he can build:
Note: the limits that you see, are applied for the entire squad. meaning that you can’t build more than 2 AA, more than 10 sandbags ecc.

NOTE: Dismantle time it’s meant as user’s fortification, in this chase, if you have to remove your own buildings. this it’s not accurate if you dismantle enemy’s fortifications. because it might take more time.

  1. Sandbags:
    Cost Point: 1
    Max Buildable: 10
    Construction Time: 2.9 seconds
    Dismantle Time: 2 sec.
Usefull to cover your teammates from small arms fire cover windows, or .
Can be destroyed with grenades, explosives, 2 Shots of AT Rifle or manual dismantle.

  2. Machine gun Nest:
    Cost Points: 12
    Max Buildable: 1
Belt Ammo: 150>200 ( i don’t exactly know how many bullets can fire this mg42 )
    Total Ammo: Infinite
    Overheat Reload Time: 32 sec
    Construction Time: 16.79 sec
    Dismantle Time: 2/3 sec
it’s a machine gun mounted on a sandbag.
Usefull to provide some suppressive fire, or pin down hallways/open areas. great devencive tool too.
it’s best if you use it in burst fire in order to avoid overheating the mg and being stuck there by sitting ducks for 32 seconds.
Can be destroyed by grenades, explosives, 2 shots of AT rifle or manual dismantle.
*The machinegun can be destroyed by 1/2 bullets. making the mg unoperational.

  3. Anti Air Quad Cannon Gun.
    Cost Points: 8
    Max Buildable: 2
    Magazine Ammo: 10
    Total Ammo: 50
    Reload Time: 6.3 seconds
    Construction Time: 11.25 seconds
    Dismantle time: 11 seconds
Usefull Against Enemy Planes. Reccomended to use it precisely since you only have 10 bullets in the magazine.
Can be destroyed by Explosives, 1 shot of AT rifles and manual dismantle.

  4. At Cannon
    Cost Points: 8
    Max Buildable: 1
    Total Ammo:

  • Armor Piercing Capped Shells: 10
  • High Explosive Shells: 15
    Reload Time: 3.5 seconds
    Construction Time: 11.25 seconds
    Dismantle time: 15 seconds
Can be destroyed by 1/2 Explosives. 1 shots of AT rifle or Manual Dismantle.
  1. Hedgehog
    Cost Point: 2
    Max Buildable: 6
    Construction Time: 6 sec
    Dismantle Time: 6 sec
Usefull to block tank’s paths from crossing certain roads
Can only be destroyed by manual dismantle.

  2. Rally Point
    Cost Points: 5
    Max Buildable: 1
    Construction Time: 16 seconds
    Dismantle Time: 5 sec.
Usefull to bring your ally closer to the capture point
Can be destroyed with grenades, explosives or manual dismantle.

  3. Barded Wire
    Cost Point: 1
    Max Buildable: 10
    Construction Time: 2.2 seconds
    Dismantle Time: 2.5 sec.
Usefull to Slow Enemy Troops that cross the barded wire and inflict small ammount of damage.
Can be destroyed with grenades, explosives or manual dismantle.

  4. Ammonution Box
    Cost Point: 4
    Max Buildable: 3
    Construction Time: 4.1 sec.
    Dismantle Time: 4.5 sec.
Usefull to Refill Primary Weapon Ammonitions.
Can only be destroyed by manual dismantle.

and lasty, don’t forget about your AI teammate, those are the soldiers that are gonna help you in the job. currently, they cannot use guns, or help you to finish some buildings. but behind cover, they will help you. just remember, Press V ( mark button ) and the IA will keep an eye on that direction and eventually fire upon enemy forces.

Examples on how to use effectively your fortifications:

AT/AA Defencive Position:

as you can see, this is a simple and effective structure that can be usefull in defence.

Analysis in depth:

this, is one of the many positions that everyone can build, with just 1 enginner.
it’s made with one cannon, six sandbags and two Hedgehogs.
in order to be protected by the flanks if your position get overrunned by enemy troops and give a , czeck hedgehogs to give more frontal cover for your teammates, and prevent from any tank to ram your gun.

Note: hedgehogs are not required if you are gonna use it for AA purpouse.
and to be effective, leave some space between the first layer of sandbags, and the second. in order for the AI to take cover. and Everytime that you will use the AT/AA gun, remember to press V towards the enemy, so your AI will look that direction and than, jump in the position. most important, they will take cover behind the sandbags. where the green triangles are.

But as a enginner, it’s not the only thing that you can build. if you have to defend a house, don’t forgett to barricate windows, doors and everything possible so that you can defend a point, or a spawn point.
but less talking, and more showing.

and lastly, as a enginner it’s always usefull having some spawn points for your team. so that you can get more troops on the front faster. if possible, the best would be on the house. but whenever it’s not possible, try to build a smaller outpost covered by the jungle and wider much as possible so it won’t get destroyed by one singular nade.
like this.

As doing so, you will provide good cover for your teammates, it’s essential so they don’t get melted down by something or someone and they will retaliate if there is more than good cover. be aware of artillery strikes.

What To Avoid!

do not build anything inside thin wood houses such as:

or anything behind Hay

Because Bullet Penetration Is A Thing!

Conclusion;

for now this is everything that you need to know. as you know, and as basic knowledge i hope that it’s gonna help someone. i will updated it if further buildings will be added or any other parameter will be changed.
for the veterans, if they think that i missed something out, let me know by writing something down. and i’ll might add it  or general thoughts.
for the rest,
cheers everyone ^^

Quick notes:
Sandbags/MG sandbag can be destroyed by cannons and AT-rifles in 2 shots
AA gun / flakvierling can be destroyed by cannons and AT-rifles in a single shot
idk about AT gun yet, but probably too.
Rally points can de destroyed with normal bullets as well

The forest base thingey isnt buildable by a single engineer, costing 5+12 from rally/MG + 5 from the sandbags = 22.

Another important thing to note is that the flakvierling (and maybe the AT gun too?) stays even when destroyed, it is only rendered non-functional. Thus, it can provide cover despite being destroyed. The only way to get rid of said cover is through manual dismantling it.

Also, then building the MG inside a building, it seems the game prioritizes interaction with the windows over interaction with the MG. Make sure to shoot the windows out first.

Nice guide! I might make this one into a video when i have time and you dont mind :stuck_out_tongue:

ty for the info, i’ll update them later.

oki doki

I’ve noticed it seems to take a lot longer to dismantle other players’ fortifications than your own.
Have you looked into that?

i’m awered of that.

and i wasn’t sure if mention that or not. just not to make the poster even longer. but at this point, i’ll include it later

I feel like the game moves to fast and the AI is too stupid for the engineer to be any fun. Most of the time by the time I have a single object built my entire squad has been killed.

I’ve found I either need to be proactive and fortify the next objective in invasion, or pick a less thorough fortification.

Like in the trench at the start of the last version’s only invasion map, I would quick toss some concertina wire on the top edges of the trench facing the enemy team, then set up a machine gun in the bunker that’s right next to the objective.

Doesn’t cover as much space as I would like, but it was a good enough position that I thoroughly irritated the enemy team to keep trying to push into my bunker even after the objective moved.

Good practice too with machine guns in windows or doorways is to back off a bit. Not just to avoid interacting with the window or door, but to narrow down the angles you can be attacked from. Of course it also narrows down the angles you can shoot, but I find the added protection outweighs that.
