Okay so this is a fairly simple quality of life suggestion, but it’d definitely be helpful to have the ability to remove old respawn beacons remotely when playing as the Enigeer class. As it stands, the options are to remember to go back to your old one and remove it or to get to a new location only to then discover you can’t place and then get shot as you run from your sneaky, clearfully chosen location to the old one. This is especially notable on Invasion, where you may place a spawn beacon on one objective but not get access to your Engineer squad again until a later objective. At that point, your old beacon is a long way behind the front, potentially several hundred meters if multiple objectives have been completed since. Having to remember and then run the really long distance involved is a real pain. Marathons with nothing going on aren’t particularly fun after all!
Personally, my suggestion to solving this would be to add some option to the Build Menu that allows the engineer to delete old fortifications and respawn beacons. This way, no-one is obligated to waste a lot of time running about. Maybe an alternative would be deleting old respawns once an objective has been completed or when they leave the active combat area? Though this may leave players in the lurch in the immediate aftermath of a capture.
I’d be interested to see if anyone else has ideas for this or if it’s been a problem for others. I’m not sure that either of my suggestions here are really ideal so I’d be facinated to see what alternatives people have!
